Way to get on em troller. My mother was out of town, so for mothers day my dad and I decided to pick leeks and go fishing. Drifted 6-7 fow this afternoon. Boated 13 eyes ended up with 7 keepers. When the wind died, the bite died for us.

Happy to hear you were successful today troller  and good luck tomorrow  me and the Fish Hawk will be along at sometime during the day, not sure just where yet or, what time.

Walleye_Slayer () that sure is a nice catch of eyes, congratulations to you and your dad.

Circled around the lake, by land that is, checking properties for sale and did not envy anyone trying to fish the Pymie today.  Stopped "Where the ducks walk on the backs of the fish" and was disappointed,  ducks must of had the day off CAUSE  I  only saw geese,  just my luck 'how 'bout it'?

Looked across the road at the Linesville area of the lake and saw waves and whitecaps big enough to knock the snot out of ya!!  NO thank-you very much!!

Yinz know I don't "spot burn"() but I gotta tell yinzes about a great "Country Omelet" I ate and, the wife  enjoyed a "Ham & Cheese Omelet" this morning at a restaurant in Jamestown called Carini's.  Definitely will be returning in the future to try lunch and dinner.

Tight lines and good times to all.

BTDT I was bouncing in between those white caps in the south end yesterday boy was it interesting! Then the last two hours at dusk wind stopped and it was beautiful!

guess where I'm going for an omelet this morning??😁😁. thanks for spot burning one for me I take all the help I can get!

Slayer I may need to "troll" for leeks! Slow fishing for me today I haven't caught an eye yet in two days! But I found a couple more perch and crappie! The rate I'm going I may have a meal by the end of the week!

Re: PYMATUNING FISHING REPORT 2016/05/09 22:52:25 (permalink)
Launched at Manning around 12:30 PM  and before I put the Hawk back on her bunks at 8:30 PM I had one crappie in the "well" and I saw a total of 8 fishy pictures on the sonar.

Wind was near perfect for drifting with the exception it was from the NNW and had a bit of a chill to it.  Not wanting to play rock-a-bye BTDT and chance losing my lunch, I chose to troll, following the various contours around Tuttle Point.  Tried lures that ran various depths, adjusted the length of line, even adjusted the idle screw on the motor to get a slower trolling speed.  Nothing except for a brush pile that I hooked and it got off which is OK, 'cause it was not legal size.

Next on the agenda was pulling worm harnesses and again along the contours at various distances from the boat.  Got a couple of hits that caused the bait clickers to sound off like a pneumatic wrench, in a auto repair service shop.  Each time half of the crawlers were missing just behind the hook.  May have been fish or maybe more of those pesky brush piles.

Just a nice day to be on the water and to make it better...........  no doorknobs today, how cool is that?

Oh......  the crappie was released unharmed.

Haven't had much time to think about fishing or turkeys or ramps or morels. This work stuff sucks,I'm to old too fat too tired for this crap,.unfortunately I still need.money. Nice pics from the catchers and good stories from non catchers.lol BTDT just a helpful suggestion you have want to fish shallow, I had good luck  drifting harnesses  in shallow water, 4-8 fow. After graduating from bait,I went to hot an Tots. Pretty simple 20 pound mono 20 feet behind the boat, hang the tot over the boat get the right wiggle and get ready to pull eyes.  Wilson launch turn to the right  and head past.the big sandbar hit the cross area. I woke up early, and thought about turkeys but my greenhouses need watering and Tuesday in feeding day,why I choose this career is mind boggling, it's a buss kill for a outdoorsman like myself. Oh well have fun boys, cause I'm not.lol  Oh well ice fishing is only 9 months away. lol

Nice pics Captain and congrats on the walleye................... !!!

Big Tuna, inquiring minds have been wondering where you were, sure sucks having to work.  Thank you for the info, greatly appreciated.

Just a little "heads up" for yinz traveling RT 58 between Greenville and Jamestown.  58 is being resurfaced along with drainage improvements. Resurfacing started Mon. at the Jamestown High School and moving toward Greenville, (just past Deer Park at the present) while the drainage work has reached the soccer fields/St. Paul's.  The paving project involves milling the surface, remixing then, mashing it all back down.

Biggest draw back til the project is completed will be the offset road surfaces which could cause ones towed vehicle to get squirrely, and go postal, without fair warning.

Tight lines and good times.

Also fished yesterday from 9:30 to 4 on the north end, Boated 10 eyes but only 4 were legal. Lots of small perch, crappie, a few cats and one nice small mouth. Good first time up this year, live 2 hrs south. Needed a little more wind, eyes liked a little faster drift that we didn't get all day. Can't get back up till next week. Hopefully put some more in the pan.

Fished today from 6:30-2:30. Went all over looking for eyes. Caught one south of the spillway fishing deep. Saw guys getting a few crappies but nothing to write home about. Beautiful day, fish just weren't cooperating. Water was 60*F.

Great day on the water yesterday with Marco and Mark.
We surfed the Bonzai Tuttle Pipeline in the rain, wind and waves. It was colder yesterday than when we last fished together in December. It is May, isn't it?
BTDT, I gave you props for texting me at 5:30AM. Couldn't believe that you'd be up that early. Thanks for the road update.
Caught four short walleye (returned), bunch of crappie, few perch and a nice cat.
Had some brief motor issues while out in the waves. Thankful that Marco was in the area and had my back. (Even though he threatened to make a video of him towing my boat and posting it here.) Turns out it was just some air in my fuel line.
Listening to the Pens game during the 125mi. trip home in the rain eased the pain somewhat.
Seems like I live at least 100mi. from everywhere I fish?

Your right Marco,I'm old and over worked. My buddy torturing me. He send me pics of every small mouth he catches in the bay ( Erie).  He went today and pounded the snot out of them again, three trips in 8 days. Nice to be retired.lol Yesterday around 7 pm headed the Brady's run steam, second cast I hook into a giant breeder by the looks of it 25 inches 5 pounds plus a real fatty. 5 other slobs fishing the hole( looked like druggies to me) tremendous fight on the fly rod and a lengthy battle,I'm telling them to get their line out to no avail. They all keep fishing and casting over my line.  Some girl sucking on a vapor fake cigarette snag my line, jerks and my fish is gone. Thank you. My trout season was two cast I left. Did see two turkeys and the way home,I'm going to have a dance with them in the morning. Now it's all coming back to me why I don't steelhead fish anymore.lol Have fun boys, cause I'm not.lol  That Pens game.just about did me in. Go Pens

I know most everyone on this site has a boat, but , being boatless, I have to ask does anybody know if the crappy bite on the causeway at Espyville is on or over? Also if anybody wants to give a few good shore fishing spots away freely - much appreciated.

Sujie.... being a "boatless" fisherman on Pyme sucks.  But I understand they moved the fishing pier from the northern end of the lake (near Linesville marina) to the south end somewhere.  In years past they've caught Crappie off shore at the Espyville marina on either side of the cement walk way. (Depending on what way the wind is blowing)

Went without a boat for many years fishing pymy. Waders are a great investment. Lots of fish to be caught with a pair of waders and the will to adventure a little bit. I know I learned alot about the lake and found some great spots wandering around the north end.
