PYMATUNING FISHING REPORT
Is there any fishing report for Pymy? Or is it just a catfish lake now?

Buddy and I had a pretty good afternoon. There was a nice heavy chop when we got there. Boated 9 eyes from 5-6:15. Wind dropped some and it slowed down a little, but ended up getting a few more. 5 made the cut at 16-18", the other 8 needed to grow an inch or two. Still loads of cats in there though hammer handle. Caught a large one tonight that was 24"+

That's a good catch Crappie_slayer, one them fish fillets dipped in beer batter would be enough for me at your next fish fry, just let me know when. Steve, just one more day and it's Wilhelm time (or Shenango), hope to see some pictures like Crappie_Slayers but, with your name on them. Good luck if you get out Saturday.

Looks like a repeat of yesterday wind wise. South end would probably be a scary ride today, but the north end should have a great chop on it. Looking awful tempting to go out again this evening. Might hit it with my dad after work. Good luck to those who get out today

BTDT, I have spent quite a bit of my life around Sandy Lake, and eaten in Granthams more around the time it opened than present. How was their fish? I am usually disappointed with most all restaurants fish meals of any style cooking. Hope it was great and you enjoyed your meal. C.H., I have to try Carini's one of these Fridays. I had a baked Cod lunch at Eaten Park the other day that was fair however on the skimpy side as far as the serving of fish was concerned. The hostess asked me if I enjoyed the meal and I replied that it was good however when I eat fish I like to eat lots of fish. I commercial fished for a number of years and ate huge quantities of fish. Of course we worked very hard in very adverse conditions. I also decked on River Boats and we ate very very well, with the same hard work and out in all weather. That little piece of Cod would have been a joke in either venue.

treesparrow I am quite picky when it comes to fish prepared at a restaurant. Whenever I am in doubt, I order extra tartar sauce and sometimes cocktail sauce, just to be on the safe side. My choice is deep fried beer batter but last night, I enjoyed a deep fried dry coating with no need for either sauce. Mac & cheese was tasty as was the coleslaw and the service is friendly along with a nice atmosphere. I know the fish can be ordered deep fried or baked but I don't know if they serve, other styles such as Cajun or garlic flavored (blehhh ) Roasted garlic good, garlic on fish bad!! Something I've learned over the years regarding fish at restaurants; get there early when the cooking oil is freshest and can be maintained at the right temperature otherwise, when busy, the oil becomes heavy with burnt coating, seasonings (especially that Cajun stuff ) and, the oil seldom gets back to the correct temperature allowing the coating to be come saturated. (nasty ) However we all know, when it comes to a fish fry; "there's no place like home". Steve, I must agree, whenever I stopped for breakfast (been a while) I never had a complaint except, it was too darned early to be out of bed. Tight lines and good times. PS. Treesparrow if and when eating at Carini's; be hungry and, their bread.......... yummy!!! PSS. Sorrry about the thread burn....

Got on the lake bright and early this mid morning, lots of boats and shore fisherman tossing, flinging, cranking, dragging and, bouncing what ever it was they were using, trying to, catch fish. I joined right in, first trying my luck with jigs then going to Shadow Raps on a three way rig hoping to catch one or two of the fishy pictures, I was seeing on my sonar, swimming 22 ft. down in 28 FOW. Wind was from the south and pushing the boat just a bit faster then I like so I resorted to plan "B' which calls for towing a Hot-N-Tot from one side of the boat and a Wally diver from the other side. By this time I was nearing "Area 41" so I tried pulling the lures 80 ft back and south bound, in 17 - 18 FOW while following the contour along the East shore line, maintaining 1.5 to 1.7 MPH til I reached the Dam. Having reached my destination and not seeing one fishy picture, I resorted to plan "C"; stow the walleye gear and bring out the ultra-light. Just getting into the rhythm of flinging 1/32 oz jigs over new found fishy pictures hovering at 15 - 17 ft in 20 FOW with now calm seas when, my buddy Bill informs me we have about 30 minutes to evacuate the area unless I wish to get wet. Looks like I, and the better half, shall be doing our next fish dinner at one of the fine restaurants mentioned afore. FYI, should my friend Bill advise, you have 30 minutes to exit or get wet........... it would be best to listen. Noooo, I just backed the Fish Hawk into her birth when the sky's opened up. Tight lines and good times.

Thanks for the flowers Troller, I do enjoy my fishing and I'm certainly not shy about being long winded talking about it. Hope the weather stays in your favor, good luck fishing and FYI, find that guy calls himself crappie-slayer, the name is really a "throw off", I hear he knows a thing or two about walleye fishing.

Hopefully this week sometime I can hit the water ....
