As for me, well never shot a turkey but one morning I was working a bird, had it coming straight into me when a few yards directly behind me a Jake cut loose that dam near had me climbing a tree.  Can't wait to get out and try it again this year and I still don't know if I'll squeeze the trigger.
 
 



Stupid turkeys huh?  Maybe this year.

I'm thinking stupid me, but I just can't help myself. I suppose I could give a turkey to my Amish neighbor if I do get lucky and squeeze the trigger. It's just, those turkeys are so danged cute. lol.

13 birds out in the open field this morning, 3 were toms in full strut. I had forgotten how pretty they are.

5 gobblers standing on the road in front of me on my way home from a fishing trip.   Had to stop or would have run them over.  One was a long beard, one other one might have been a long beard also.  I know 3 of them were jakes.  Getting close to opening day.

2 big Toms and a flock of hens in my driveway bout 15 feet from me in the house this AM.
They had been in the field out back and for some reason came up by the house to fan and show off lol.

Cleaning the truck bout 11am and 2 mature hens walked right down the driveway bout 10 feet from me.
Walked right past like I wasn't even there looking at them- did cluck and pickup the walking speed a bit but never got all scarey.
Of course there is NO hunting anywhere even near where I live.
