Genny

Broken headlight prevented trip to SR, so went to the gorge after I fixed it.  Water was down from the weekend, but much more turbid.  Maybe 6" visibility.  Pinners coming out said it was hot at first light before the water came up and the mud blew in.  Went to the Island, zombie males all along shore from the big hole at the bottom of the hill all the way down into the island water, no action at the Island or on the flat going into the riff above the island, finished out up in the chutes, and again, nada.  The fish are there, but every time I can get down there, conditions are not so good.  All the upstream gages are dropping or have dropped, so if the polar vortex does not include large amounts of precipitation, maybe next weekend.

This AM it is down to just over 1000 and the turbidity is low for the Genny.  I am starting to think that Ford Street is not a great indicator for the falls, too much the power company can do in between.  But it is hopeful enough to cancel any ride to the east with all the cold and snow in the forecast.

They are dropping the canal today or tomorrow, this might raise levels in the river for a few days.  Navigation closed at 5 PM yesterday, they pulled the buoys the day before that.

    Happy T-day, lurkers!
