Trolling Rod holders

What do you guys recommend? I almost bought the Ram 2000 but I don't think I want to get plastic ones like what I have now. I need 4 for running dipsys in Erie. What metal ones would you guys recommend that wont cost a fortune? I wish I could afford the cisco's.. Ed

Tite-lok are best bet on a budget. Ran them for quite a few years as dipsey rod holders. Everything better is much more $. Stay away from plastic.

Big Johns if you can swing it.  If you can't find anything in your price range I still have those Scotty triples for sale.  I know you don't want plastic, but these are pretty heavy duty.

Be careful with the plastic/rubber top to the tite-lok holders, my buddies popped off the first trip out on both holders and went into the drink! Cabelas replaced both with no issues though. Other than that they've held up well.

tite-lok multi lock. It also comes with a bungee to hook on to the reel handle.

Definitely get something that will allow the rod to be horizontal so the tip is close to the water when dipsy trolling. If you'll surface mount the holder, the tite-loks are a good inexpensive option. If you have a rail to mount to, Perko makes nice rail mount rod holders. I have something like this mounted on my boats rail. (Just be careful you don't hit a post at the dock since these are fixed)
