WHat do you do?

With a 5 hour drive up to the river and only week ends available, and not having the cash to go all the time.
I pass the time in the winter months tying flies for the up coming trout season, or carving my birds, bears and hillbillies, or painting with the extra time i have.  (along with all the winter related work to be done.)  My question to you guys is
What do you do to pass the time when fishing isn't happening in the winter?

Tuna, you are excused because you are still fishing

Lol, I was laughing like crazy until I read the bottom line :)
My down time is summer. Mainly July- August .
I don't like sweating just standing still so I try and get as much of the honey do list done at that time before I head back to the woods & water in fall. We have found that we both like RI and clamming is fun( good eats too) so that's about the extent of summer fishing for me.

Bear , I hope the time passes quickly for you but I"ll take the cold over the heat.

Whatever I can to keep the child bride happy so she's more likely to allow my addiction.

I am with RJ, I fish all winter and take it easy in the summer.   I still get out one time a month or so.   Like to try and get my wood cut and in and there is always the haying to do for the farm.  Plenty of stuff to keep me busy over the summer.  Winter is a time to get the freezer stock up.

It seems that this winter a lot of my time was spent dealing with the weather one way or another. When I came home from my daughters place over the holidays I carried all my fishing gear into my man cave and dropped it.....it's still where I dropped it.Now that spring is around the corner I guess I'll pick it up and start organizing!

And it gets worse as you get older, Dime, because most things start taking longer to do even for  the same amount of work.

My better half is working nearly a double shift for the last year or so, so I carry the inside work all winter, and both the rest of the year, and sneak away to the nearby ditch or the Genny early or late once in a while, evening trout once the chrome are back in the lake.  I am also responsible for speaking with all the people who come up and ask if we are having a garage sale!
