Steelhead rigging

In fishing for steelhead, what is a trailer with sucker spawn, and how is it tied?

    Attach a 12-24" piece of tippet to the eye or bend in the shank of your "top" fly via your preferred knot.  Attach the second (dropper) fly to the end of the piece of tippet you just tied to the eye or shank of the first fly and you now have a tandem rig.

    Alternately you could tie your first fly on with a Palomar knot and leave the tag end 12-24" long and tie the second fly(trailer) to the tag
