What's with these fishing Reports?

I thought fishing reports were for letting other anglers know how the FISHING is going. Some of these reports are bashing other anglers for a variety of reasons. Roping fish, using different equipment than they use etc.........
C'mon fishing report people, if you want to vent, use this forum NOT the fishing reports page.
BTW I have an uncle in his mid 60's thats probably caught more steelhead with his zebco 33 than you will ever catch with whatever you use.

I would sooner use a push button than a little ball of yarn under a bobber and try to pass it off as flyfishing!

Where else are the mup ears going to brag about the 3 fish they dragged back to there cars from where they Snagged them. And now they are going to be cat food. Just a picture or two and into the garbage can they go. This is why we fisherman need a $25.00 across the board increase to fish the tribs and may be then people will respect the resource the have.

what the hell would a 25 dollar increase do? That wouldn't change the view on snagger. Once a snagger always a snagger!

This coming weekend may not be bad, a good amount of rain forecast for Wednesday night and possibly Thursday. Assuming that holds true.

I'll tell you a secret, Kids....

I learned most of what i know about steelie fishing by fishing low and gin clear water .
What made it's a great learning experience (and often great "catching" ) is you can observe the fish and how they react to your junk...you can also observe how your junk drifts thru different types of water

Many stay home in those conditions waiting for "prime"  water thinking it makes a "big" difference .
Most of those folks  will catch no more or less

oh yea i like to fish low and clear to learn how fish react, unfortunately when its low and clear you get alot of people reacting in not so great ways.....nothing like putting a drift down on an unpressured fish and watching the take or having it turn tail and leave you wondering what you did so wrong....alot to be learned

I cut my teeth in low n clear water. I don't think I fished any "prime" water til like my sixth or seventh season. Low n clear is a non issue to me. They can be tight lipped but you gotta find the happy fish to be successful.

Thought this post was about "fishing reports". Anyways, one thing I can't stand is how many un-important details go into people's reports.  I wish people would keep their posts short and sweet.  No one cares where you stayed, how their drive up was, which bait shops they like/dislike, etc... Sheesh

hi blood pressure is bad for you, duud
the stuff you "can't stand" is all part of the package anyway.

I'm more curious of what folks hope to find from reports at this time of year anyway?
(other than entertainment)

Certainly can't be creek conditions, cause the none of the reports are "real time" ..they're a day or  three past..
and the creeks won't be anything like the date fished/reported  by the time you get there

Fish in the creeks?..it's the end of Oct.
With what gets roped everyday, there's as many fish in the creeks right now as  you'll see for the rest of the season.

"fresh" fish?....90% of the troutgawds that post reports   don't know the difference from a fresh fish and a spawned out hen

lastly, if you need the reports page to know  what's going on  at the tribs this time of year, you need more help  than the duuds that went 18 out of 118..
someone  should get  in contact with them and suggest they try tying  a HOOK on the end of their line

Probably not the thread for this post, but did anyone else notice the "Loomis for Sheriff" posters along rte. 5? Sheriff Loomis, what is this world coming to?

Good comments, Genieman 77!

Now is the time to educate yourself about the different areas of the streams, so do some walking and explore.  Look at the angler maps on this site and try out new spots to fish.  Notice the numbers on the water flow gauges from links found on this site, try to remember the numbers and conditions when most everybody was hooking up.

Most realize it's best fishing for steelies as the water level is dropping.  Most also know that concerning west side streams;  in general Elk Creek takes about two days to drop while Walnut Creek takes about a day.

changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes....nothing remains quite the same
