Erie City, or places in/around Girard, Lake City, Fairview, IE, close to Walnut or Elk??

Girard Dinor, Mike and DeAngelos, Mikes Sports Bar( a bit pricey), Pennys Pub has decent wings, Libbys Chowhound for brkfst and lunch,  I'm sure others will chime in.

Avonia tavern (great wings), Crowleys, Jim & Sues pizza, Theresas Deli, and like gymi03 mentioned, Girard Dinor & Libbys both have awesome breakfast (never tried their lunch yet)

O'Charley's @ 2077 Interchange Rd.

Great end of the day/trip meal!
Their Louisiana Sirloin steak or Chicken Pot Pie should do the trick!

On the west side, another vote for Avonia and Girard Dinor over here..

On the east side, Freeport diner is great, and it's right along 16 mile ( I don't think they care if you park there to fish as well), love the sausage supreme sandwich, and the yellow pike sandwich, along with the breakfasts. Further out, more towards the hotels along 90 (if you're staying overnight), Doc Holliday's bar and grille has great wings, burgers, pizza, and more, and they do takeout as well.

I ate at Theresa's Deli for the first time a couple weeks ago. It is an experience I'll never forget. I bought the "Meatball Nightmare" in the biggest size. It was an entire 18" loaf of Italian bread with meat (loaf shaped instead of balls), sauce, double cheese, banana peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It cost $11 and weighed about 10lbs. I had no idea it would be that big. I ate it for lunch, and supper. Then I had some for breakfast the next day, and some for lunch. I finally finished it up for supper. I got 5 full meals out of that thing. Not only was it HUGE, it was also the best meatball sub I've ever had. It was also very cheap considering the enormous portions.

Theresas on West Lake Rd are the best subs in Erie county, if not the state.  Unreal prices.  2 thumbs up for Freeport for the eastern tribs.

Theresa's!!!!!
Only bummer about that place is u can't sit down and eat inside.  After a long day of walking the creek, it would be the icing on the cake.  But eating the "nightmare" in a warm car is still pretty great.
A hot bowl of soup at avonia tavern warms up the innards too.  Then its back out for more steel!

Got to go along with the crowd on Theresa's.  Their pizza slices are pretty good too.  Everything there is good and get a lot.  Only bad thing is trying to fish with a brick in your stomach for the rest of the day...

If you don't mind the Harbor Geeks checking out your package, Park Tavern is good stuff.

Taki's has lunch too. They're open until 2:30.   For a different experience, try Lucky Louie's hot dogs.  They also have craft beers, and about 20 varieties of Smith's hot dogs and sausage. They are just past the casino on Rt. 97.

On the east side, Freeport at 16 mile.  Lawrence Park Dinor right on Main St. in Lawrence Park.  Lighthouse right at 4 mile creek, and Bootleggers, just east of 4 mile creek on rt. 5.  (near Partners  )

Any Chinese buffets anyone would suggest?  Tried one a couple blocks east of El Patio and wasn't impressed.

The only one I really like is one in Millcreek in the mall area. May be on Peach. Only been there twice, but both times were good. Sorry, dont have the name off hand.

Totally agree that no sitting room in Theresas is a bummer but I still keep going back for more. I forgot about Takis, they have great breakfasts as well. I have never been to Lucky Louies but sounds pretty good, I think I will give them a try this week.
I too am in search for a good chinese buffet, any recomendations?  I've been to quite a few and nothing really stood out.
If you like mexican, I think El Canelo (sp) is pretty good.

Super Buffet on upper peach st. near the movie theatre. Best chinese buffet around. Yes Taki's has lunch, but I could think of a million other places I would rather go for lunch. There breakfast is awesome. Their pancakes are delicious and if you have the stomach, try some greek homefries.

Best one in the area is Imperial Palace on Rt 20 (Buffalo Rd)  in Harborcreek.  It is about a mile east of Nagle Rd., which goes south off Rt. 5 just past 4 mile creek..   6.95 for lunch, 9.95 for dinner.  Good selection, never had a problem, and I've been there many times.

Fries with greek sauce on them!  Like a greek dog, or greek burger. Oh, greek sauce is kind of a chili sauce. Erie thing?

Must be a western PA thing.  Most people probably think of greek sauce as tzatziki sauce (the yogurt sauce that comes on gyros).

For lunch on the west side I would recommend the Girard Dinor near Elk or Theresa's subs near Walnut.

The gentleman who owned Taki's was Greek, and all of the little NY lunch places that serve the chili sauce on hot dogs and burgers were owned by Greek people, even called the Greeks, so I guess that's why it's called Greek sauce. There are 3 NY Lunches in Erie.  In the old days we would get a dozen burgers for a buck, but they would be 90% sauce with 10% burger.  And you had to bring something to put the greasy bag in. :-)  There's a NY lunch at 15th and Peninsula drive if you ever want to try greek dogs, burgers or fries.  Sometimes you just have a craving for them. :-)

Super Buffett has been closed for over 2 years. S&R Buffet by Tinseltown on upper peach near I90 is good as well as Chan An Buffet in West Erie Plaza on 8th and Pittsburgh ave. most of the rest are just order to eat or carry out.

Is the Greek's in Wesleyville still open?  Armand's subs and pep balls were great.

The Greengarden Inn (maybe,... the place on 26th & Gg) used to have a great ruben.

5mi, yep. When I think of Greek sauce, I think of the stuff on gyros. I've had chili fries and chili dogs. I'm guessing this stuff is the same stuff? Sounds good.

I had another meatball nightmare at Theresa's last night. This time I ordered a medium. I ate as much as I could handle last night and still had enough for a big lunch today. I love that place. It's almost worth a trip to Erie just to eat there.
