Walleye Boat net

I learned one thing on my trip. My net is too small for the big boys. I lost 4 giants at the boat because they wouldn't go in the net.

What do you guys use?

I am looking at the frabill powr lok
and a Beckman fin savr 4+3 ext handle

also heard good things about Stowmaster but expensive

Frabil and Beckman are both good nets, 30" or so hoop with about the same depth.  Don't get any deeper because you'll be snagging the hooks if you miss.  Basspro has a good one that has a handle that extends to 6 foot, you don't want any longer on a boat the size your running because you'll be contantly whacking people in the head with it.  Make sure the material that the netting is made of is pretty course, its easier to get the hooks out of it when they get fouled.  If it has fine twisted strands its almost impossible to get them out.  Watch out Erie's like crack you think you can get by with at trip or two a year and before you know it your up there every weekend.  Be safe...

If you're swingin' your net from behind, you're doin' it wrong... just sayin'

I think he got the gist of what I was gettin at, rubber net has too much resistance when the boats moving.  It can be done but with way more effort than that required with a regular net

I like the rubber coat as well, virtually eliminates hook fouling in the net. You should not be coming from behind to net, makes it way more difficult than it needs to be and you'll lose more fish...

Good video for netting, but I am middle of the road on direction for netting.  Most depends on where the fish comes up in relation to boat and motor and how experienced the pole person is in controlling the fish.  When Erie Mako and I are fishing it is common for me to ask him to drop the fish back a bit once I get the net into position if it is close to the boat, or lift the fishes nose a bit if I can get it from the front.  Both  can work well if everyone understands what is going on.  Getting rushed either running the pole or the net is where problems happen.
I agree about avoiding nets with fine thread/weave in the netting, rubberized or coated netting is heavier in the water but a huge benefit in reducing hook snags in the net, I avoided the wider rubber mesh style because of drag but found one with coated mesh that has been good.  There are trade offs that the individual should consider and go with what will work for them.
Ours has an extendable handle to allow for easier storage and it works well, but again it is personal choice.
Many nets are very deep, sometimes deeper than is really needed. I like the large hoop opening but found the super deep net made it more prone to tangling up, so we gathered the net in the bottom and used a line of zip ties to tightly gather it and reduced the depth by about a third.  Doing that helped make it more manageable and really hasn't hurt in getting the fish into the boat that we have noticed.... just an option if you find a net hoop you like but not the net depth....

Huh. And all these years I've always netted 'em from behind. I'd have the fisherman move forward in the boat, and I'd go the stern and just scoop up the fish from behind. But I always brought them in over the side, not the stern. Never seemed to lose fish. But those guys in the video certainly made it look smooth the way they were doing it.

I've noticed in my experience that the netter, and not the net is the most important thing. Don't need to spend a great deal of money to put more fish in the boat.

Plenty of good nets out there.  The netting is the most important part.  You don't want to spend 20 minutes getting your reef runner out of the net...
