ever had one of those days.
Hit the local lake this morning for a few hours and had one of those days you wonder why you even went. Got about half way to the lake and had a flat on the trailer, no biggy.
Got to the lake and backed the boat half way down the ramp and loaded the boat, no one else was there. Did my usual routine of putting in poles, tackle, life jacket, etc. Unhooked the boat from the trailer on the rear and the clasp from the front. I have a 30 foot line tied to the boat so I just can back in the boat let it float off and pull up and pull it to the dock. Forgot to tie the line to the trailer. OPPS. Boat goes floating off and there I sat for an hour before someone was nice enough to get my boat back to the docks for me.
Got the motor started and started trolling. Picked up 3 eyes in 10 minutes 26, 23 1/2 and a 16 incher. ALL RIGHT, I was thinking it might not be such a bad day after all.
Removing the big eye from the net the fish thrashes and one of the barbs of the treble hook goes deep in my index fingure with fish still attached. Had to push it through and cut it off with side cutters and slide it back out. Now I know why the fish was thrashing around so much, dang that hurt.
Don't know if I came out ahead or even but I guess tommorrow is another day lets just hope it isn't a Groundhog Day rerun.
