The one fish........

A little beginning of the summer fun.   What is the one fish you remember the most.   Can be any fish.     
I was 13 or 14 and fishing all summer at a creek up the road.   Had a trout on the bank 3 times over several weeks and it got away.  It was huge.   Water was low so I know it stayed put in the deep pool.   I finally got it in on day and it was a 19 inch brookie.   I remember it having a huge girth.   Being young and excited I kept the fish and we ate it that night.  I remember how orange the  meat was.   There were picture, but as much as I have searched they have been lost.

    my most memorable fish was a largemouth bass....i was 6, my dad's family were all having a sunday picnic out in the pasture by the small pond that was there back then (its a parking lot now), i had just gotten my first mail order fishing lures in the mail the day before....i tied on the red maribou jig, cast it out on my zebco 202 combo as far as i could, it bounced off a stump, hit the water and i started reeling, i remember seeing for the first time how shallow the water was in that end of the pond, don't know why that had never registered before that, but it was only a few inches deep....from behind one of the stumps this wake came straight for my red jig, smacked it and i reeled in this bass...huge to me at the time....13 whole inches, i was on top of the world   :)
