Well I am back.  Got there 20 minutes earlier than yesterday and the only person there was in the spot  I want to be.   There was no one across the so I decided to go over to where the fish would be easier to land and there were less snags and lost flies.    When I got over, there  was one guy right where I wanted to go but enough room to slide in just up from him.  Start talking to him for a bit and after a minute of so............................................
It was Charlie and his wife (who I did not see).   Morning started of slow I manged 1 hook up and charlie manged a  couple  fish in the net and a few more on.     Talked across  the river to the guy  on the rocks all AM.  He was hooking up quite regular.   Around 1100 he yelled over thet he wasleaving in 1/2 hour and f we wanted his spot to come over and he would leave when we got there.   Got over and wouldn't you know it that the folks who stepped into our spots across hooked up a few time.   We picked away for a bit and it was  SLOW Charlie manged a few on and a couple in the net and I manged a few hook ups and 1 in the net.
Then it slowed to a CRAWL, with only a few hook ups across from us (where we were) so we took off.  Lucky because it started to rain right after.

Fished moved around alot during the course of the day and many were not hitting he bait hard.   Had quite a few on, headshake,  off.   There were quite a few fish that looked like they were making reds as seen a few come up on their sides making the bed.   A few more jacks today, but all were small,  no big males I saw.  All the hens were fatties.

Maybe Charlie will post some eye candy later as he got a few good pics and the fish looked good too.

Guess my original reply wasn't received well.

    HT   ?????????

Looks like Charlie and I skinned out in the nick of time as it has been raining hard for the last few hours.
Forgot the fly of the day for any that care.  It was Suckerspawn in variety of colors.   I actually got the most hits on a  plump white with red body and  tail   fly I found on the ground.    On an Orange one too.

Speaking of finding flies I was plus for today as I hauled out a blob of mono from the river that had 6 or 7 in it and as the snow melted  and I walked around warming my feet I found 8 to 10 more.

Gonzo C+R flyfishers can't find a lost fly on the ground in fall. much less in 2 feet of snow! You reap the harvest in the spring.  Thanks for the great reports, Clint. And have a green day tomorrow on (not) St Patrick's Day!

Good luck to you UFZ openers manana!
