Photo Hosting?

What does everyone use.
Photobucket used to be fine for my needs but since the last "upgrade"it has been a pain.
Any suggestions?
All I need is something to resize and maybe some minor editing(cropping, contrast, things like that, and an easy way to get onto fishporn sites.

Why don't someone give a lesson on how to post a photo, from beginning to end. Then  even I might post a picture,if I ever catch anything.

while photobucket certainly didn't make their site more user friendly, it's still possible (if you have explorer 8 or newer)

OK once you have resized your pics  something like 640 X 400 something or smaller  on photobucket there is a place that says direct link.
    Copy that.
Here on the reply area you will see a tree next to the youtube,
    Click the tree.
A box will open that has a long opening.
Paste the picture you just copied on bucket into that space and click
insert and a picture like this one I took driving across the RT53 bridge of the lfz fri will appear. Sorry this one was Frazier's and the sun wasn't at its best angle.

    This is off the bridge

Yes Tuna its still doable but when trying to prepare a number of pics to tell a story it is now work.
They made it terrible to navigate the site.
I was hoping there was something more user friendly out there.

Now if you could tell me how to make this my avitard I will be eternally grateful.

that is cake stuff man, have a picture on your computer somewhere that is sized 100x100 max (actually I think its more ?) .
Go to your profile (MY PROFILE ) at top of page here. Find the little box that says avatard, or how ever ya say it..
click on the search and once it starts invading your privacy on your computer, locate the pic, click the pic and it will load into the box..

    Whew, that blew typing that..
Anyway.. Clint you didnt miss any thing, dry humor about not fishing the lfz..
I think I'm sticking with the big stuff and see what happens..
    Always thanks for your reports..
Now I hope the weather,  COLD RAIN & SNOW will keep people a little off the water but I doubt it..

    DB,
May all those hard rains & chilly winds blow in Pulaska man.. lol

A few up to 4 inches of oozing ostrich and rhea intuder type sise 2 5X long cut shanks.
    Good luck.

What you need to do to post pics:
Resize your images using a free program (infanview) www.irfanview.com
Once the pics are resized 640 x 480 for landscape and 480 x 640 for portrait they need to be uploaded to a place where they can be called by their web location, for example.  When I upload photos, I upload to my website www.1pcmedic.com  into a subfolder say "powercart" and I named my photo 1.jpg   so the path to my pic is http://www.1pcmedic.com/powercart/1.jpg
The above path is the "image URL" that needs to be copied and pasted into the box when you click on the insert image icon on the toolbar when making a post.  If the image is larger than the above dimensions it will be a lot larger than full screen making sliders on the top and bottom of the page or cropping the image you referenced in the image URL. Also Irfanview lets you batch resize / rename so you can resize an entire folder at one time. Yes you need to play with the program to batch resize / rename until you get the feel of doing it, practice makes perfect.
    I hope this helps

RIght click any image in this post and chose properties and you will see the URL that the owner had to enter as the "Image URL"

Twobob,  at the top of this page click PROFILE, then AVATAR TAB.  Insert the url to your avatar which is the same location you used to post the pic.

Tuna a quick check makes it look lagit.
    Not spamish in any way.
I will check it out after Naples or in the next day ot so depending how things work.
Thanks jcy that is what I was looking for ,some alternative options to the new bucket.
Is it easy to transfer older pics?
This site does not auto delete if no used for a certain time does it?
Some pro photogs have given me what they use but are much to complex for my humble needs.
Basicly the digital version of a kodak brownie point and shoot.

If your internet provider gives you free web storage every file you store has a path to it. You store the photo and post the path in your message. The photo should only leave the message if you removed it from your fre web storage or you edited your message and deleted it. The photos are not held by this board, only the reference to it.  Like I said before, right click any photo on the web, select properties and you should see the path.  Exceptions would be photo galleries generated by Javascript or other scripts but HTML references can always be viewed.

Any photo uploaded old or new can be viewed in this message all you need is the path to where it resides on the internet.
    Hope this helps.

I posted this a few years ago and Mike G had it pinned to the top.

Some things have changed but it is a good start.
I edit most of my photos with faststone.
It can be downloaded free at: http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm
I have the expensive photo editing programs but use this 99% of the time. It is very easy to use and does most of what any amateur would want,
