Lubricate stock drag washers on Daiwa linecounters?

I am in the process of performing maintenance on 6 linecounters I have had for years and was wondering if the drag washers should be lubricated. I have read the new carbon fiber washers get lubed and was wondering about the stock washers. The first reel I took apart , all the drag parts were dry as a bone and everything is clean and shiny. Just wondering what the standard practice is. It seems common sense tells me I don't lube the brake parts on my vehicles why would I lube the "brake parts" of my reels? Anny comments are appreciated.
