Fished sat and Sunday night with nothing possibly a few short strikes people are starting to line the shores and got spot burned on a favorite spot by gw's net, guess it is a good spot lol won't be back till Thursday night possibly
Think my dad and I were in that spot monday night. He said in the 30+ years he's been fishing there, hes never seen them put a net there. Had zero luck with the walleye.

Fished yesterday from 4-9. Nothing but a few light hits till 730...then 11" crappie and 1 smallmouth. Then 1 18" walleye. Boats jammed in the shore stumps. Saw a few hooked at the spillway. i anchored at the old cement pillars with only one hit and miss. Hit the islands throwing raps for the last hr.

only a few light bumps again last night. U talking about the net by where u caught ur first eye last year thunderpole? It sucks that they moved it there this year thats a good hole. Last year they had it several hundred yards down closer to the small bay at the other end but only had it in for about 2 weeks. The baitfish seem to be moving in now in large numbers hopefully the eyes do too soon

Did the heavy rains affect the water color at all? How about in the bays? Im thinking about heading up tomorrow (friday) morning. Might try for some crappie in the south end bays. Anybody know of a bait shop near the dam, other than ricters?

I don't think the rains muddy it up,but I head to the spillway, high water means water movement and simulates the river to run up for spawning eyes. I always had great luck with high water.

Get your bait at the boat house. Tried 2 days at the south end for crappies nothing. Only a few perch.

I tried a new spot last Tuesday at the North end, all I caught was the bottom. I got some small hits on a white curly tail grub, but no takers. Last night, I fished the south end, with no hook ups.

Severl of us fished Thur Fri and Sat and the fishing was downright terrible. We go walleye and crappie fishing on the first weekend of trout season every year and this was the worst it has been since we started going. Get your bait at the boat livery near the Jamestown Launch. Stay away from the store near the park entrance on 322 before the dam...that place sucks.

Also, I should mention i will be coming from hartstown back toward mercer. I see you guys mention the snodgrass area. I have never fished over there, but have driven past the area. I have seen what looks like a few pull offs, but i have no clue where u fish over that way. I have only tried wading for eyes once near bay 41, with no luck.

4/16/2013-All the hardcore guys must of been to chicken to come out tonight (or at least where I was wading towards the south end) but all I got to say is hammered em! 3 keepers, all over 18 inches and 10 short fish from 7pm till about 9:30. Yea it rained and rained some more, so what, the bite was on and the rain gear/waders kept me plenty dry

Just read an article in in-fisherman that said the average walleye spawning site was 9' form shore in lakes. 1-3' of water, and no more than 40' from shore. I have never fished there, but according to them, if you're wading up to ur nuts... Turn around!
