Lake Erie Tributary Permit 2014....

This should be the NEW stamp incorporated in 2014..
Elk.....Walnut..... 20 mile...... 16 mile...  Each stream has its own EXCLUSIVE PERMIT. Charge $250 for the year long permit and the money supports stream improvements, land easements, law enforcement, stockings for that stream..  All other tributaries will fall under the current Lake Erie stamp.  All tresspass fees shall go to that streams finances..

    Too difficult to enforce IMO.

So what happens to all the people who can't just dish out 250 every year? Plus Erie would be losing money from revenue in tournism and the one time up angler. The 250 amount would just be rediculous. Whats next stock stripped bass?

So by paying one of the highest costing licenses in the country and being a Erie resident my whole life I would have to pay a steep fee to fish? Granted I normally don't fish those creeks often anymore I want to enjoy my fishing, but its just rediculous. It would never happen, when Erie would lose millions in revenue for fishing.

I pay every year 37.80, therefore I do get to fish. It would be the worst decision the fish commission has ever made by far, they would lose so much money they would have to charge even more.

How would they lose SO MUCH money???  7 people would have to not buy a license for every Permit sold..  That WILL NOT happen..  There are more than just steelheads in the state of Pa, who would quit fishing over this, and if any would, it would be minimal...

Yea then after they do all this they should put in restrooms by the stream that you have to pay to get into. Why do you think fishing has to be a rich man sport? It's supposed to be a past time and something to do with your friends and family. I'm not an old guy by any means but I still have deep roots with tradition and pastime and paying 250 dollars to fish a few streams is just stupid. If you feel like giving out extra money how about you pm so I can tell you my address on where to mail the check!

So your saying the millions of revenue brought in for steelhead fishing every fall from people around the state/country wouldn't be cut when 90 percent of them specifically fish those creeks? If they charge that much on those creeks the state will lose millions from tourism guarenteed, and the license and permit would have to be two separate things. People wouldn't quit fishing they would quit coming up to fish those creeks and steelhead all together. This argument is invalid

It would reduce the OVERCROWDING problems, would actually bring back alot of anglers who quit coming to erie because of that... The DSR on the Salmon river has thrived on a pay per visit model, this would give anglers more flexibility as a year round permit..  If you dont want to buy the permit, plenty of steelhead opportunities await you at the other streams and lake front...

You would "reduce crowding" by "bringing back" people who aren't there now?

Reduce crowding, to attract more people

Brilliant. Why didn't I thunk of that

Then go up there, I'm sure they would love your money. Erie has thrived on allowing the unexperienced angler to come up and catch fish. Plus if you don't like the crowds you shouldn't be fishing those creeks regardless. There are reasons to why they put so many fish in those creeks. The point is this is a pointless discussion and it will never happen. I can guarentee there are hardly enough DIEHARD guys for those creeks to make it worthwhile

I heard they were going to alleviate the pressure on Erie by stocking Marlin in the 3 rivers...  Any truth to that??

Well they decided to stock bull sharks in lake erie to alleviate the amount of bulls*** swimming around no word on how many but they might have to drain it like Tamarack so everyone open your checkbox. I heard the marlin will be stocked in select creeks but only if everyone pays up $250 per creek but I'm sure that will entice any angler
