I think there's a guy on rt 5 before you get to 20 mile. I take my deer hides there and his business card said he bought furs and sold trapping supplies. I think his driveway was the first one on the right after you pass that shallow pond with the duck decoys floating in it. He has a really small sign that says"buying deer hides".

I have know idea what he buys or what he pays, but you may want to look into it.

Yea I love trappin coons. Almost as much I as like trappin mink and rats. Done real well on coon this year. Although numbers are starting to fall now with the cold back. Did real good on them with that warm spell we had.

Where's thunderpole at? Last I heard he was gonna be runnin lots of rat sets but haven't seen him post on here in awhile

Mentioned a few Threads ago bout the Beaver issues at the lake across the street here in central CT.  Had a friend trap it this season- Took 11 Beaver and a few coon and a Otter already.
Was never that good back when I was  trappin. Goes to show that ya dont always have to be back in the woods to make out.

The sad truth is in the modern age of political correctness, hunters and trappers showing photos of their harvest is considered offensive by many. It would be nice if the same consideration was given to those same hunters and NRA members in the political cartoons we are currently seeing in the newspapers but that would be asking too much from the liberal media. The reality is you are better off keeping those photos to yourself and circle of friends with the same interests.

I have a few I bought to try this year and I do like them but I've had coon walk by the dps and not even work it but get caught in a pocket set 5 feet away. They do have their place and they are a great trap but when mink is in I like pockets better just for the fact is I can get both in a pocket and a few places I have to trap have high mink populations

Hey trapper guys, IMO, I'd keep the hero shots.

What's the problem with posting pictures of trapped animals?  If you don't like it, stay off this board.  I guess tree huggers really are everywhere...

    Steelie,
It's all about respect. Respect to the animals, fellow trappers, hunters, and the general population that view this board.
Some of the pics were great others were pretty graphic. This is a public board and thus the pics become fair game if not copy righted.
I know  I wouldn't want to post a picture that was graphic/ in bad taste and then it wind up on some anti web site or ad campaign.
    Mike

Go to trapperman forums and take a look at the pic posting rules over there and the pics posted and yes that's a public forum as well that can be viewed without registering. My pics were not out of line or graphic. I know what not to post as trapping goes.

And by that line of thinking any pics of deer with rifles or bows over them shouldn't be posted. Or a pick of a fish with a fly in its mouth

You wanted to know and you got two good explanations. Now, what you choose to do about it is up to you. You may want to go on a couple anti trapping sites to educate yourselves how the other side works.  Myself, I trapped for decades so they don't bother me personally. I have a scrapbook of my own.

No doubt there is a fine line to walk on what is acceptable and what is not.
We gave our opinion based on our knowledge of the facts surrounding the sport and some of the photos that were posted. What they chose to do about it is their business. You may want to do a bit of research on the publics acceptance of trapping vs the publics acceptance of hunting and look at the photos the anti's use to push their agenda and compare them to some that were posted here. As I stated, I trapped for several decades and have my own photos I share with like minded friends but not on a open forum.  You don't see many deer draped over the fender or trunk of a vehicle anymore for the same reason.

This post is starting to remind me of that Bow Course I hadda take a few years back.
It was mandatory to keep ones Bow tags.
They taught that ya weren't supposed to wear your hunting clothes while driving to and from the woods cause the Antis might see ya- said to change when ya got there- BS.
This is my lifestyle and if somebody dont like it----------------
We may well be the last generation to do the things we do the way we do them.
Thats why they make 'gillie suits'.  lol
