Yep- with your boots ON is the only way for us.
  Pretty darned good company to be in too.

just got home been north since aug. worked at a cleaning station and saw more natural kings come in than ever before. now to my thoughts with the low water the fish dropped eggs in the lower river more than usual the water stayed constant. the steel bite will turn on when the water comes up and pulls the salman eggs out of the gravel. also imho the amount of snow has the river temp down and that slows the bite. one last thing i noticed this year is,and i dont know why,there are more fisherman that wade into holding holes and stand there to fish even after watching you hook up in the hole.i might just be getting old and let it get to me more.

Certianly, the ball park area was full of spawners when I was up there in Late September, and even the second week in October, when we were seeking Steelheads, it was obvious that there were a LOT of salmon still holding in that stretch, not that there is a lot of gravel, but a lot of spots they had to run through to keep going upstream were very skinny ( and generally gaurded by a shortliner).  State of the Lake meetings are only about a month away, we'll hear something then I'm sure.
