BEWARE

That guy with all the **** is on numerous threads- I would hesitate to even click on it considering the evolution of people using the putor for criminal activity trying to to 'get into' your personal system,

Along these same lines, I got a phone call a week ago, while I was napping so answered groggy. A man with a heavy Indian accent saying he is with the Microsoft Tech center in Nevada, and there is a problem with my computer, he needs me to enter a code and then he can access and fix.  I can't understand the code as he is talking quickly, and ask for an American.  He puts on an Indian woman who talks even faster. Again I ask for an american, she puts on another Indian who says he is from Mexico but now lives in Nevada.  Still the heavy Calcutta accent though.  I ask for an American once again and I get another Indian Accent, by now I am screeming at them to slow down, and then the line goes dead.  I check Microsoft, can't find a way to contact them, unknown number on phone, McAfee says all is all right with the unit.  Christmas Eve, I tell all this to my IT Pro nephew and he says there is no Microsoft tech center in Nevada, and this is the latest scam.  You let them into the computer from the remote sight, and they clean out SS #'s, Credit Card info, and suck everything out of all accounts they can find.  BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

The administrators have been doing a good job of removing them when they are aware.
I'm sure they don't check every forum daily so if one sees a spam ad then let them know and it will be removed.

Just IMO , this site is a much better place now

I have been using the report abuse feature on a regular basis.
Usually let them simmer a couple days waiting for action to be taken first though.
If my having to call their attention to spamming for illegal stuff is good moderation then I guess it is better.
I thougt reading the broards they moderate on a regular basis was what mods were supposed to do.

    I just went and looked.
I reported all of those yesterday morning before I went to work at 4:30.
I guess they have to rewrite all the forum software to get rid if them.

    From what I see, gather..
The Admin are just regular weekday working folks.... Maybe it hits some ones screen 7am monday morning then it's a start of the work week..  Thats how I like my work week anyways, 7am monday morning..
For most part Id assume a tedious task removing spam but at times an enjoyable, learning experience from anglers who post here..

Quite sure if someone would like that tedious task as mod of removing the spam , it's available, seems the ship is sailing along fine on its own..

Kinda like the good ship anarchy here, regulation by self-restraint. A unique  social concept if there ever was one. Just don't click on posts  that promise fake ****s  or a longer..........................  fish

My 70 something year old neighbor just fell for that scam.   They accessed and locked her computer and got her to give a CC#.    Not good.

There are still some of those posts up that have been there since 1/14 even though I reported them at that time.
Its not that my report didn't get there since every time I report them again I get a message saying they have already been reported.
