Yup it's on it's way. Been snowing on / off at deer camp all day. Snowing pretty good now with accumulation growing. It should be a good hunt come southern gun opener on sat.
The long range looks like winter with the lows and as you said db, highs are irrelevant . Ok, NOW my mindset at least is ready.. Bring on the ice Baby !!!!

We got about 4 to 6 inches tough to say with the wind and melting on the warm ground. Got caught up in a 15 car pile up this am on 81 and waited in traffic for 30 minutes. Cars in the ditch and under a tractor.

Nicest sight I've seen in a while was snow coated river banks and no one fishing in town yesterday afternoon... Fichy, as of now there is already an advisory out for Tuesday for lake effect snow. We got about 6 inches and although it was melting from underneath pretty rapidly, 22 degrees this am bonded everything up pretty good. I assume there will/should be our long awaited bump in water from this snow event. Red field recorded 10 inches and the ground was soaked before this snow started sticking

Still says 350 at the dam and Pville is showing lower than last week. Cold so little or very slow melting. Am I missing something? What about this would trigger a rise in flow ?

I find it doubtful that this snow "won't" melt... Ground is not frozen under the snow. I'm not saying an instant flow increase but the potential is "finally" here.

I don't think holding ones breath is in order with the forecast the next week. I may be confused but I thought fichy was going up now til Tues and you mentioned a possible rise of flow to him. Since they were in the same post you can see why I would think they were linked

No, Nancy and I are going up Tuesday night to fish Wed. I'm working all weekend just to free a day up so I'm glad to hear about less people. I'm use to crap weather and roads from Rome in, so I think we'll be OK. Thanks, Dime.

Good Morning Fish/USA lovers. It's a beautiful day in PA. Woke up this morning with the O.A.T. at 9 degrees above 0 and smiled. Just happy I don't live in Buffalo, N.Y.. Now I know the Buffalo area being hit with snow is a normal thing cause, it snows up there in the summer time. The happy, happy thing is, I don't have to shovel the stuff. How about some of those pictures showing the wall of snow coming in off the lake, just fantastic. I've got better than 2 million miles of driving under my belt (shows it too) and I've driven through a lot of winter storms in my life but, I'm sure glad I missed that one....... So, I am. Thoughts are with the bigriggers that didn't........ for sure! Weather dude says my stomping ground can expect another 1" to 3" of the white stuff starting tonight but, the temperatures should start to moderate and hit 50 something come Monday. Can't wait to hear the excitement in the weather dude's voices as they overplay "INDIAN SUMMER".. I gotta go..... thinking about snow just makes want to want to............. move south!

Well pre thanksgiving blasts especially over 4 feet have happened here, but are few and far between. The snow has really not dipped below Sandy creek and the sun is shining bright. I just ate a big breakfast and may venture out in a bit.

sunny windy and cold today. I must have my summer blood still running as I only made it for 2 hours. my hands even with gloves just would not stay warm. I go through it every year until the winter blood gets flowing. one more small one and a warm up. Should see a bump in water I would think. I am busy all weekend , but may squeeze in some morning only trips.

Redfield had 18" out of yesterday, according to the National Weather Service, it will take it a while to get down there, but you are also supposed to see another bunch before Friday night, and as Dime says Pulaski is supposed to get at least 12-14". But that snow is coming off Ontario, just the same weather system. SO, soon, bump! Probably just in time to provide high water for the Turkey day 4 dayer some of us have, and my river here will probably be unfishable by then, too Fichman, if you are headed up there, you may want to stay south to Syracuse, and head north on 81, and drive carefully! But Utica to Rome to Camden to Willietown to Altmar may be far enough south to miss it! L13
