Heavy rain last late afternoon... Nice cool down today and the next few nights in the forties... Water temp is in the mid to high fifties... Small craft advisory on the lake.. Cool and cloudy at the moment... The only thing that's not making them run in numbers are the salmon themselves.

No rain here in a long time and don't know when it's expected. It is nice and cool today , yesterday turned humid.
The thing that might be lacking in any big runs might just be the lack of the fish themselves . As pointed out from the lake reports , the river will tell the real story, lets hope it's a good one

Supposed to be pretty nice over the next few day in the upper 70's.

Could use a little rain here and in the adk's . Watered the garden ( peppers & brussles ) today .
A spike in the water would be nice :)

We had a couple of shots of good rain during our float yesterday but not enough to bring the river up.  We really need the remnants of a tropical storm and then, maybe, things will break wide open.  Right now it looks like a re-run of 2007? when there was no water to speak of.

07 was pretty wild in fantasy land. Plenty fish and guests went through a few hundred flies and yards of leaders on fish in rocks .

Well it was quite windy yesterday and the leaf hatch in full bloom. The wind has continued through this am. The rain started falling ATT around 900 or so last night and although not really heavy has also continued into this am. What it will bring is anyones guess

Well the wind has died and the rain tapered off at around 4 or so. It rained pretty good at times today.

Rained a little last night and today, but only sprinkles during the day. Quite windy today.

07 was 100 cfs from labor day in to November if I remember correctly. I hit the largest run of cohoes ive ever seen around sep. 15th of 07 two days in a row... As they ran back late afternoon and ran again the next late morning...This past august and September were both above average rainfall with august possibly breaking or coming close to breaking the record.... Bear... Went by your place and saw fresh tire tracks but not truck this past weekend...

Just realized I'm a little late on this post, been too busy to keep up with things around here lately

Windy today and nothing but a passing quick shower today. It did rain pretty hard last night.

I saw a report calling for 6-12 inches of the white stuff for Lake Ontario's eastern basin across to Maine Wednesday into Thursday.  Predicting 3-6" across central NY past Albany into the Berkshires.  Expecting 1-3 in my neck of the woods.  Good God I hope this is not so.

Gerry, if the ground was a little colder we would have easily had 3" plus on the hill in oneonta yesterday .
I would expect they will get a good blast of lake effect up there on the mountain.
Took safety off on a nice Tom, if only he woulda took 5 more steps for a clear shot.
Also had a stare down with a 4 pt but I was totein a shotgun last weekend. Crossbow will be next time.

Four inches of snow enough to make tracking easy plus the deer have to learn that they are not invisible any longer.

Local forecast here calling for rain and a low of 42. BUT I am putting the plow on the truck  and getting the 7 foot blower for the tractor out this weekend.

with regards to rain and the salmon river, how will the rain on Thursday impact the river. I'm trying to plan a trip for Thursday to Saturday. I know in erie a half inch can really blow out the streams, same case with the salmon river?

See the other post, but where we are now would take a monsoon to blow it out. We are at 350 now and even at 1000 cfs the river is very fishable.

Clint how's the ground by you??? My yard has spongier ground than its had since spring. Reservoir has to be slowly filling and any additional rain will compound it greater due to trees going dormant and brush dying off

We are pretty soggy here too. Put it like this, last month I drove the tractor in the woods to pull a tree with no issues. Last week I tried to go down the same path and I got buried up to the front axle. It was a wonder I got out, had to fill the three foot ruts with chunks of wood  and use the bucket to curl out.

Blustery this morning... although not the coldest morning with the wind it is the most blustery morning so far. Sun shining and not too much rain in the forecast maybe I can get some machine work in after all
