It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO      dry here we have not seen a good rain in weeks and nothing in sight. Wind has been really gusty too other than that  weather has been nice, not too hot and plenty of sun.   I have been working hard to get stuff done in the month I got left.   Got the boat out today and got it started and cleaned up so maybe a few times out before.  Started a new med and seems to be helping with the burning feeling.
Nice gills HT  they look tasty.

Started painting the ceiling while listening to some killer live jams. Foo fighters, green day, Brian Wilson , billy Cogan and many more. I like being able to turn the volume up to 11 and just bust it out.
Got wicked side tracked however around 2pm. Wife wanted an herb garden so off I veered on that project.
Now back to the working mans blues and a paint roller.
Someday it will all end and there will be nothing left but smile, smile, smile :)

Great bucket of gills Tuna you are for sure a fishing fool! Spent all weekend finishing a friends front porch then he tells me het bought a playground for his kids and would like some help setting it up. Tells me a construction guy said it took him 9 hours, well I build everything for a living and if I couldn't do it in under 9 hours I would hang up my toolbelt and quit my job. Took us 11.5 hours and let me say we set fire to the whole herb garden.....I need to fish more and stop working so hard, on other peoples projects

Know how ya feel with the responsibilities as opposed to  fun stuff Tuna.
Got to my place in SR country Friday and just got home Sun eve. All work and no play.
Cant be away from a place this long and not have plenty of catch up to do.
Sometimes kinda fondly recall those Motel- sleep eat and fish trips for days at a time- no housework.

Here too John, Luckily  at the farm we have an old well that will run the hose for about 15 minutes and then you have to let it sit for a few hours.   It's enough to get stuff watered a bit and not use the house well.   Here at my house we have a decent well, but I am still careful about watering.

PS It is ABSOLUTELY POURING right now.

Had a nasty light show & gully washer just before dark. It passed quick but strange thing was an hr later our power buzzed off/ on.. Bummer, it killed my computer for the next 3 days which was getting some phat tunes . Guess I'm going to have to suffer through the 10's of thousands of CDs lying around ..

For me the weather has been great here. The fishing non existing and the work plenty ..

my reply really had nothing to do with the current weather conditions but more of my on going negotiations.. ANGER is the word !!!
I know my issues are small but they effect the lives of many..

Now on topic , It has been rainy and cool so my garden (what little time I see it) is full blown on the fly and after whipping things together tonight I am ready to take off tomorrow eve and forget about things for some peace in the ADK's for the weekend.. I will take Jack's (hope your well) advise and shut my phone & internet OFF for 2 days !!

Well so much for fishing on the ausable this weekend. Its blown out and a flood watch has been issued. We do have a back up plan in place for a friend to bring his boat and maybe fish lake placid for lakers and trout or some other small lakes in the area.
This brother just can't catch a break lately

Rich,  I feel your pain.  You had similar weather last year if I remember correctly.  In fact, last year they had over over three feet of snow on top of Whiteface when you were there.

Yup they did. We will still have fun regardless . Rob S should be on the road now with his family ( who was in the snow with us last year) and I am stuck doing business until 3:00. The company tried to get me to do a conference call meeting at 3:30 and I said HELL NO !!! My phone is off at 3:00

We fished moose pond in Bloomingdale (!near saranc ) today due to the blow out of the river . It was windy and cool so no bug issues on the water.
When we got back to launch at noon the wind died and the black flies were atrocious blood sucking vampires .
As always that area is more then the lake placid/ ausable area due to the tourist and preventive ( dose the water ) they do.
As a whole in the adk's right now , Black flies are peak

Re:Weather thread 2014/06/14 22:06:15 (permalink)
Weather was cool and windy today.  We went out on Oneida and had a really good day.  All drifting today because there was small white caps, but the boat did well and no real issues except for the ball busting ride up the channel we were drifting.     Both got limits of Walleyes biggest was at 22 inches.  We only kept 3 because I had a brain fart and thought size limit was 18 inches and it is 15 so we threw back 2 17's and a 16.   Lost a doozie right at the boat.  Would have been upper 20s I think.    Got a dozen or so really big sunnies, a few SM bass and a couple of perch.  The kicker today was close to 40 pickerel.  Many pushing 2 feet.  Quite a fun day.  Will post some pics in the open water thread if my buddy sends them over.  Only got 3 more weekends until the surgery and going to try to get out at least one more time

Saranac river was very high and pushing into the banks . Since its mostly flat water it would have been quite fishable but we didn't fish there. I have caught some large pike in that section before.
Going to take the boy and grandson down to lake Everest and dunk some worms.

Sounds like it was a fantastic day Clint !!

Re:Weather thread 2014/06/17 21:13:35 (permalink)
Well I know it's an off topic but thought it might catch the Ct. Resident of rg3 ( if he still is rg3 ) or any other locals in that area.
I became an instant fan of Lukas Nelson and POTR ( promise of the real ) last fall and was dying to see him come back this way again. Well unlucky me , he is and within 4 miles from my house . The unlucky part is I won't be in NYS at the time. So to make this short story long, I did a tour search and the next thing around before he heads back home out west was a place called Arch Street Tavern in downtown Hartford . It's a very small but historic bar and tickets were $10.00. How could I go wrong.

Now to the point . Has anybody ever been there ? Is it a dive bar per say ? I would think not because the Hartford jazz band and orchestra frequents it often.
Is there any other hotel besides the $200.00 a night Marriott within walking distance , they play from 10-1 am so driving is out of the question.

Finally, it's hot as heck out and the pool is wet

Never been there Tuna- no report.
On the  flip side when traveling on Old Rt #1 around Clinton look up Bills- just a decent bar with sea food -- bout 2 years ago had a great jazz band on the weekend when Wifey an I stopped by. Likely not worth a special trip -but if your around and IF the band still plays there.

Lots of heavy rain and boomers last night.

OT for me too:   I still have not got my tax refund back yet.   2 weeks ago Friday it showed up on their site as processing  and that is what it still says..  I know I sent it in on 4/14 but come on, I send it in that late every year.  Have never had to wait this long.
