Here in ROC land, visibility is about 100 yards (and sometimes a LOT less). 8 days to the equinox but it looks more like Christmas outside today!

Got about 6 to 8 inches of that wet mealy shat.   Biggest issue was that the drive and lawn were starting to be a sloppy mess and that and a 3/4 ton truck do not mix well.   Big ruts.  Did what I could and finished with the blower to keep the carnage at a minimum. Wind is REALLY starting to whip around good.   Looks like a blowing, freezing day tomorrow then back to warmer weather.   Then back into the single digits for a few days next week .  When will this roller coaster end.  Hopefully soon

Well the positive in your snow event is that it won't last long as a warm up is on the way.
Here in my local we got rain and then a 40 degree drop in temp. overnight.Tomorrow it will be back to high 40's and hopefully today is the last of the artic like temps!!

only got a dusting of snow but the rain turned to ice last night and the temps dropped like a rock.. Freezing outside now with negative temps overnight..
Funny thing at the JOB today was:
I was ripping up sheets of ice to get to MUD so those 6 WD trucks could at least move ..
Tough, Tough winter.. Hope those who we have not heard from in awhile are surviving..

Started in the 40's and now down to 37.   Light o moderate rain,   but  had 1 clip of decent rain come down.   Tomorrow will be back in the 20's.

Got 3 to 4 inches of snow last night.   It was sunny but cold at around 15 all day.  Wind was pretty gusty too.   Decided to stay home and help dad in the barn and get some stuff done.  We had a calf that would not eat and it did not make it.  I took care of that,  fed the other 2.  Changed the oil in 3 cars and worked on my car trying to get the engine light off.  I need to get the computer rest now to see if this works.  If not the car will probably go when the inspection is out as it may be a hefty bill for the converter.  We will see I got 6 months before it is due.

It was brutally gusty here today with the grandkids out on the ice. All had fun, fish were caught and report later.

Clint:
I know those lights are a pia but they are usually a simple fix from the right shop when it can't be done alone. They give you a grace of $400.00 invested and then waive the emissions . Again, if the car is worth $400. Then find the "right" garage that will help you.

Yea the guy up the road is my go to guy and he would fix me up.   I just have to decide if the money would be better spent just to upgrade the car or fix it.   It's a good running car, but 11 years old.

4-6 inches of vis.
Nice flow.
No fushes.
Not even a line bump.
Fished about an hour with smelly sacs.
Really have forgotten how to fish I think.

Was a pretty good day weather wise.  It is sunny and 27 right now.   Could not make it up to the river today as planned as my sister had another kidney stone and she had to go to the ER.  They may have to do surgery to remove them this time.   Supposed to be close to 0 again tonight  then warming to the  40's during the day.  Then this weekend colder again.   I am all for this gradual warm up though.  Lets keep the thaw slow and even.

Dang Clint. Hope the hardships slow down a bit.
While it was a sunny day on the rock pile today, I'm feeling under the weather myself. SR is a 50/50 toss up

cool start but plenty of sunshine out there today with very little wind.. I'm still sick as heck so even standing by the fire now my bones are cold..
The 50/50 shot at SR this weekend is looking more like a 20/80 .. A warm shanty is seeming better in hopefully the downslide of this illness

Yes it was  another great day.  Low was about 12 this AM.   Still have not heard how my sis made out, but no news is good news in my book.   I will hit the river tomorrow if it is not raining (it is supposed to), but Friday looks like a go for a few hours.   Saturday is still up in the air to go watch the 2 games in Albany.  They are at 130 and 330 so I would not have to leave early and could get back early.   If Westhill wins they will play on TV Sunday, so I would ht the ice early  and be home by 330 to watch them.
My sister is home that had to go up and crush an remove the stone.   They put a stent in.   The   stone was 9mm, that is huge!!!!!!

As soon as I pulled in the drive it started to rain.   I had reserved myself to still go if it was only sprinkling..........    I am staying home and hoping for tomorrow and then Friday should be a go

the sun started to rise over the hill to a cool start at 7am.. Then it disappeared for rest of day by 7:30am.. Dull dreary day with lots of puddles around and grey looking ice on ride home past local farm ponds.. Sprinkles during that trip but no rain, yet.. The Might Hudson River was still locked solid across the Rip Van Winkle which (I rarely go that way home) and the coast guard cutter was still making trails..
Even now standing in front of the fire my bones are cold..
Spring is so near but feeling ill , seems so far away..
Bagged the SR trip for the weekend and going to try out New shanty # 5 on some ADK lake for trout with the heater full blast on Sunday..
Clint:
Robs and I bought the killzone XL igloo which came Monday so we want to give her a shakedown before seasons end.. I (we) love the orig igloo and always serves well, even in 30-40 mph winds.. Time to dedicate that one for mostly hunting and expand for groups on ice with the XL..
Hope you make it to the river , catch a BUNCH and have a GREAT time.. If you decide to come to the Albany game let me know and we have room in the shanty Sunday

Geez   2 days in a row I come home and it has been dry all day and as soon as I turn into the muddy **** drive it starts to precipitate.   Today it is a moderate wet heavy snow with gusty winds.     Don;t think it will  add up to much accumulation, but it is crappy out now.  Not worth an hour to go up and get soaked and cold.  Stuff is loaded in the car for tomorrows trip up after work as it is supposed to be nice.   I tied up a bunch of my go-to flies so I am ready.   I should get about 1.5 hours if I hustle.

Got home with big plans to go out, but the temp 19 and the wind gusts just did not bode well for my bones.  I did not feel like getting cold for an hour.   Tomorrow should be 20 degrees warmer and may be a go.

well from Oswego to ElLisburg... The coastal flat regions of Lake Ontario are finally going bear and there is almost more green than white in some areas. east of Interstate 81 Richland,Albion,Redfield and tug hill it's still a different story
