20 plus inches here.    I knew we could not go all winter without one good one.   Plowed and snow blower x 2  today.   Even shoveled off the back roof.   Let's just hope the worst is done.   Yea bumping up the flow alot.

Freakin cold again this AM.
Tried swinging but the line was frozen after a half dozen casts.

That is the far bank.
Kinda what I was dealing with.
Foot and a half of air with a couple feet of snow ice ledge on top of it.
With me being 6'5" that puts the crappy digital cam 11 or 12 feet up before taking into account how far out it might be to the subject of the shot.
Tough to get any good shots.

Another 9 to 12 inches today.  It is supposed to be about a foot every day through the weekend.

The LE is way up in Watertown now, it is supposed to swing back and forth all week wreaking havoc on us all.   We will see what totals up by the weekend.   We are close to 30 inches for a 2 day total.   Supposed to be 1 to 4 by 7 am  tomorrow and then it will set up over us for the day tomorrow, I cannot wait................    I hope my dads plow works as we are going to a show tomorrow in Syracuse.   So it will be drive home, meet the wife, and drive back out.

Yeah clint... I'm glad I pushed my banks back a few weeks ago. You parish folks seem to be getting the worst though. The white out line was as far south as the county line at oneida lake this morning... I'm just waiting to see what type of mess is gonna be following this cold front coming at us... should be interesting... this here is the makings for our first flood stage conditions... fresh snow on top of hard snow pack

About 10 to 12 in the drive tonight, less than I expected as the radar had it sitting over my place all day.   Will see what tomorrow brings???    I am guessing more snow.

Clint you guys got pounded for sure. Every day in morning and afternoon was white out this week coming through parish. Went as far south as the county line this morning and it was bad!!! Snow free all the way through Pulaski this afternoon for the first time this week but it came north and hit us pretty hard and dissipated up past the Jeffy county line. Warning is in effect for potential 20 inches through Friday with a snow band squiggling up and down the eastern end from south to north... something tells me it could get pretty ugly.

AND it's 5 below right now.   Yes, calling for 10 to 20 inches between tomorrow afternoon and Friday afternoon before it settles down.   Just depends where the wind decides to blow.

This winter won't end until end of March the way the long range weather looks, way below average temps into 10 day and beyond. We are going to get a blast of frozen precip on Monday, but the constant lake affect that you guys have to deal with would really make me depressed.

Luckily I got off 81 just in time... probably the most brutal conditions I've seen all year. Maybe ever. Blinding blowing snow across the open fields .. coupled with blinding lake effect snow... 10 above actual temps but steady 40+ gusts...and clips of blue sky snx sun through the wind gusts.. could not see a thing driving. Even a local store worker asked me what am I doing out in this weather... that's how bad it was

That is why I haven't fished the winter up there since the mid 80s.
Hour and 45 minute drive turns into 4 hours of white knuckle hell on the ride home.

The wind was brutal to say the least, it is pushing the 3 or 4 inches plus yesterday's snow everywhere.   Calling for up to afoot before morning, but it looks like DB may be spared as they are saying the heaviest snow will be northern Onondaga/ southern  Oswego for the heaviest only time will tell when the LE gets organized and where.   At least there is a lull in the snow for the weekend , but the temps still look BRUTAL with  below 0 a few nights next week.   I will probably have to break down and get fuel oil in mid march if this keeps up.   I am trying to wait as long as possible for the prices to come down a bit.

So far staying down towards the 'cuse.   That in it's own right sucks because they do not know how to clear the roads in the city and they are a mess. Last time they got a foot it took 30 minutes to get off 81 and 35 minutes to the hospital which is usually a 5 minute ride if you hit all the lights

Sounds like I should avoid 81 Sunday morning unless the weather turns .
Wind got nasty here today and I guess tomorrow . Hope it chills out . Sat it won't matter in shanty but Sunday in the water might be a little nuts ..

Rich,do your son and yourself a favor and head for the homestead Sunday instead of fishing, the weather forecast is not good!

We escaped the brunt of the snow with only a few inches last night.   Syracuse on the other hand got pommeled.  Every street in the city will be a frigging mess.  To boot all my patients will miss their appointments and I will be stuck with a long boring day...............        There are worse ways  to spend a Friday though

The LE should be gone for the weekend and they are just calling for light snow Sat and flurries on Sun.   I will keep an eye on the forecast.   You never know around here though, one shift in the wind and BAM.  Cold and wind are the big worries though

I told my son the brutal conditions we will be facing. He said it would be OK if I decided not to fish Sunday but I could sense the disappointment in his voice . Even if its just a few hrs we will give it a shot. We have to be in the area anyway and it's better then riding the couch all day

Thanks Jack. I do hope they drop the water a little as it will be a challange for him. He is inexperienced in wading so lots of caution will be key. Not so much the pressure of flowing current , it's the slipping on icy rocks that is my fear.
Like you said, if it gets miserable then we will just head back and I will enjoy riding the couch

Gerry, luckily that one is going to miss us  by a bit.   Only going to give us a few flurries.   Not that cold here at  12 degrees
