West side has to be extremely dangerous to access based on your pix and description. Now they are talking 19 for a high Saturday. I like the winters where we get a solid cold snap and then it gets up to 35 during the day and back to 25 at night, for ice fishing, and same thing but don't even need the cold snap for the river. I don't think it has been over 30° in about 2 weeks and then only for a day. L13

I do believe I will be walking on water into April. It's great !!! Just hoping for a seamless transition into stripers. I hate when the Hudson becomes the big muddy. What's a steelhead again ?
You guys are doing a GREAT job of keeping the snow over the GL, helps things here !! Presently we have about 10-12" on ground in one fall ( a single day record ), that's it for a snowy winter. Temps have been consistently in the singles and teens at night . You can start a slow dance Jack, I'd like a slow 4-6 week warm up thank you :)

Yea BB, local weathermen here are patting themselves on the back for calling the "big one " last weds. Now any sign of a flurry it's a breaking storm watch.. We may get some in the lower, Albany region but nothing much expected for the northern laker country.. Lets hope so anyway as I will be driving north at midnight Friday after hootie with out his blowfish

I saw the latest and greatest weather report and it appears my neck of the woods is looking at 12-18" of snow. Regardless of amounts I hope it stays an all snow event.

6 to 12 here....but my trusty Honda snowblower blew its trans and in the shop for repairs.I have a friend with a plow but he won't get to me right away as he has to plow out the car dealership first and a couple others, looks like I might be snowbound until Saterday! I just might start a VIGOROUS spring dance soon....I'm really sick of this cold and snow.

Calling for -5 tonight... already 3 above... something tells me this may be the last of below zero but with a clear night developing it may go well below zero. Town pool is a narrow raceway... if it hadn't been for that 2 week high water event during our arctic vortex a few weeks back I'm convinced it would've been frozen right over. But the days are getting longer and the sun is getting stronger. Even on a cold day like today there's a sense of melting in the air. Tuna, I think its gonna be just what you want bud... a gradual natural thaw. This has been a long hard winter. The three brief thaws we had were short lived...non impacting on the soul...

Close to midnight here and 10 above. Dad's freaking plow would not work again, thought I had it fixed. Come to find out after alot of troubleshooting that the positive bolt in the side terminal battery was close to breaking off. I wiggled the battery wires and the plow worked. Went to tighten it up and it snapped off inside the battery. This may explain a few no start and charging situations that we have been having. Drilled out the bolt and may have enough threads left to save it. Need o get a new battery bolt.

Bummer Clint but at least you figured out wiring the wiring issues . 10 degs and breezy, felt cold out this evening. Slight warm up thurs - Friday with the impending snow. Don't think it will amount to anything in my woods . Then Back down to the singles and teens in the day. DB is right , the sun is higher and the days longer so its coming but standing on ice fishing for trout in a tee shirt will be fun !!!

Yes, it is coming, and hope that it is slow. Friends up in Boylston say there are places in the central hill with 300 inches on the ground, and the NWS still shows 15" water equivalent in some places, north central hill. The snow will be gone from the dark hollows around the Fourth of July and the Black Flies will hold off on their onslaught until late June! If it goes quick, there will be hell to pay. L13

Lucky I would be surprised if records don't get broke for snowfall this year in some arwas.Let's hope they manage the water appropriately... I'm pretty confident they will based on this current seasons/ years performance... probably gonna be 1800 for last half march if nature takes its course naturally and and higher flows in to mid may...

I wouldn't mind seeing a higher flow of 1,000-1,500 by 4-1 in my secret spot .. It just might bring me to the river again. If its a big water event then my spring steelhead day number may be zero. If I do make the trip it will feel very strange fishing around others after being spoiled from 4 months of fishing multiple days a week and weekends in solitude .. Not even sure if I'm going to plan much time on the water for salmon. Maybe just a day or 2 with fish master from Pa. Shoot me some dates Jack, I'm a little tight on time off with this new work schedule , I think we took some time off around 10/20/14 but may go to Arizona .

Don't know for sure but its a lot dano.and honestly I wouldn't believe much of the total reports for that area.... there's was quite a bit more than is even on the ground right now that thawed and settled earlier on. We have gotten many 3-6 falls... numerous 6-12 inch storms... quite a few 12+ and the biggest so far was 32"... snow banks in the village of Altmar are up around 6' in spots. Village of Pulaski has some very high banks even after quite a few extensive snow removal operations. I'd be surprised is Altmar doesn't crack the 200 mark

Yep nice day today. Just finished up the truck. Had to do a little creative fix s since I could not find the appropriate extender bolts for the side mount battery. But $7 later the plow works as it should and I saved the battery.

Hey Rich are you ready for the "dance"? We got around 10 inches this morning and then a lull in the action, however they are saying another blast is on the way tonight.Since my snowblowers trans blew earier in the week I enlisted the aid of a friend with a plow,he went through this mornings blast around noon and will be back tomorrow to clean up.Now they are forecasting another "light" snow Saterday night, this is really getting old!Next week we are supposed to get seasonable temps and some rain, not much I hope. I HATE winter!

We are really going to miss it here. Calling for 2 to 5 inches. Just a very light snow since around 1300 and it has only left a dusting only. We will see what the lake has to offer tomorrow night.

Here are some snow totals I pulled off a site. Lacona is OBSCENE. The Watertown Water Filtration Plant, which keeps track of such things, says the city has seen a total of 143 1/4 inches since November. In February alone, Watertown has gotten a total of 34 inches of snow. The National Weather Service has been keeping track since October 1. Lacona, in the Oswego County town of Sandy Creek, has gotten 276.3 inches of snow - that's a whopping 23 feet! Highmarket in Lewis County has received 202.9 inches so far - that's almost 17 feet. Also in Lewis County, Constableville has recorded 196.1 inches of snow, which is just over 14 feet of snow.

after round 2 and a great home cooked dinner we got about 10-12' so far from todays storm with more heavy coming tonight.. That brings my hometown total right now about 22' in 2 storms a week apart.. Luckly the north , laker land is only expcting 5"-6" total and I hope the drag the next 3 days won't kill me.. Spring dance ? ... A slow melt with no percipation would be great Jack.
