Bear your camp probably has a four foot or more of a bank blocking the drive. The region itself has varying levels ranging from 18"-3' depending on wind, heavier snow bands and settling. They are working on removal in Pulaski pretty diligently when I drove through yesterday

Thanks, Cape. Hope you get up to the river soon and give us a good report as you usually do. Thanks, Andrew. Looks like my Sorels will be going on over my waders with the snowshoes. I have a suspicion there are a few places I could go that won't have tracks.

Jack, I just got done tramping through the snow for hrs with my kids for wabbit s . We seen 4 , no shots fired. Soaking wet from sweat. Even the young buck kids agreed it was a dumb idea.. Humm can't say I told them so as kids will be kids. It's been snowing here since I got up at 8 am and I'm sure hoping I don't have to plow again.
Florida is nice but I liked Arizona a little better for scenery .

Snowing pretty good down my way. Original forecast called for 1-3" but I think we got that beat. HT- rabbit hunting is a hoot especially if you have a couple of beagles. I'm not a fan of sunny Fla. but I do enjoy fishing for bucket mouths with golden shiners in back of my sister-in-laws house. Its a cool sight when you see that bobber start to dance just before a bass hits the shiner.

About a hour ago the snow stopped and a check on the radar showed a little scattered stuff to the west so I got on the clothes started the blower and went to work on it.Shortly after I started I noticed a couple flakes dropping, then a short time later it got heavy enough that I quit and returned to the warmth of the house. Now it's coming down heavy and I check the radar and that scattered stuff gathered together and is a green mass on the screen.Good thing it did n't wait until I was finished or I would really be in a foul mood.Did I mention that.....I HATE WINTER!! Hey Rich are those rabbits Snowshoes that you went after?

No just cottontails . Got a good area her by my house but its brutal trudging through the brush and cedars and deep snow. Had 2 beagles once, never again though. Still coming down hard and looks like I will be plowing tomorrow instead of ice fishing. I'm already feeling sick for my work day sat. Something like ice fever. I Like winter but HATE snow, all work and little play unless you are riding a 1971 Homelite , actually it might have been a 70.. It looked like this but I never found the sled to be as nice as the add: Remember what I said earlier: Farmers almanac called for an above snow and below temps this winter

Yup, Pulaski got hammered yesterday. I imagine it will settle and thaw this weekend for sure but I'd assume no bare ground til April. Was walking through untouched snow in the backyard last night and it was up to my groin in spots

Have to agree jack. This weekend was the weekend of my best steelhead day ever. And it was a warm day that followed a batch of horrible weather. Anyone who allotted time to hit the river the next few days should have action ranging from good to great!!!

Snow is packing down pretty good. After about 3 weeks straight of snow covered roads its pretty nice to have clear roads. Theyre Still working on removal in the village. Temps are above freezing and its showing. Flood watch is in effect with some forecasts saying an inch of rain through the weekend. John, it could be good plugging water soon

The snow in the woods is heavy! I got just got in. Didn't slay 'em Jack, but did very well. It was a great day!!!!!!!!!! Fished without gloves and hat most of the day. Very enjoyable. Full report with pics tomorrow. Thanks for all the weather updates and such guys. I hope the water goes up, brings some fish in and moves some around. They are holed up in very specific lies. Water content in the snow is high, it really has settled. The clumps falling out of the trees could knock you out! Food and sleep time.

Well no increase in the flows yet, but we will see. Still no good ice around here to hit, but this warm up will actually help a bit melting the snow during the day and freezing it a night. I am in basketball mode now going out to watch all the nephews games, but we will see if I can squeeze in a few hours this weekend or not.

Rivers up to a 750 release... north sandy usgs is reading blank due to an ice jam... rain today and tomorrow... snow has settled and thawed about 10-12 inches... hopefully it stays cooler with less rain to the east ... this could get ugly

Just raised it up to 1500 until Christmas. Looks like Charlie just got t in the nick of time. Glad the are being proactive. I would hope this increased flow would bring up some new fish. For January.

I just saw the raise, Clint. Yep, some new fish for us would be great. I did have some luck this time. I've paid some dues, so once in awhile...... Hope your neck's OK after all the snow removal. At least you won't have to be worrying about roof shoveling for a little bit.

They definitely are generously proactive. Nothing is near flooding yet. They may just pull it off by starting a 1500 flow so early on. Tomorrows rain in to the evening is what we have to watch out for. Smaller tribs are gonna blow out hard

Well proactive is ok but reactive sucks, compromise is always good.. I really like 500 to a grand this time of year over a 335 min, honestly I forgot it may be 225 min now.. .. To me a steady 500 is better then an up and down 335-1500... unless it's turn it on shot it off daily thing, which still had me confused.. We take what we get and fish when we can seems to be the way of the SR angler.. I sure hate 2g + flows in April, thats for sure .lol I just hope they don't raise the level of water on the Ice tomorrow :) Be safe Folks ..

No. sandy is still ice dammed for cfs measurement but its gone up 4 ft. In gauge height... north branch salmon river must be ice dammed also as it is not measuring cfs either. Fish creek at taberg is rising rapidly. Rain is supposed to be heaviest tonight followed by well above freezing temps tomorrow. Its not looking good. Please be very safe and cautious if venturing out. If ice damming is occurring and eventually let's loose it could result in emergency discharges. Please be safe if getting out on the river.

Rt, don't wanna scare you too much but if your roof is near flat with little pitch and shingle roof opposed to metal; what's happening now is the worst thing that can. The rain adds 10 times the weight to the snow.

Just checked the north branch gauge in red field. In less than an hour the water level raised 2 feet... its really not looking good. I'd say the ice broke ands its all down hill from here. Who's to say what the other feeders of the upper reservoir is doing.

Agree Andy- Mine has some pitch and is a fairly new metal. Would still like to have some heat under it for a few days. Have often wondered if there is any product ya could mop on that makes it even slicker so the snow would slide right off.
