Charlie,I was "thinking" of giving it a try on a western Ohio trib but the snow forecast is keeping me home, don't enjoy white knuckle driving. The temps are not going into single digit but it'll be cold and snowing.Darn weather screwing me up this year.

Sorry to hear the weather knocked you out of the box, Jack. I was looking forward to some reports. Have your granddaughter bake you a consolation cake....I've picked some god awful days to go to the river this year, but it seems to be more miss than hit **** near everywhere. You'll just have to sit in the shanty with Rich and pull in some lakers for excitement. If you've never been to Lake George, it's a beautiful place. I wasn't joking, it may be a very fun trip.

I spent a couple weeks in Ticondorga many years ago training for a sales job.The guy that trained me was living right on the lake and there was a otter that used to hang around his house.Did n't fish while there but enjoyed the place immensely!

since it's about the weather , a friend just returned from a 2 week Alberta Canada whitetail hunting trip.. He goes every year and has some impressive bone hanging on his walls but sometimes it's not always shooting.. Often times we discuss the weather, this time we discussed his physical appearance.. His face was actually scabbed from wind burn.. The temps he hunted in were -25 ... Crazy to me but in his opinion worth the trip.. It really I guess, is what we chose to endure in the weather.. Enjoy the heat wave today & tomorrow, hope travel is safe for all , the Arctic blast is not far off.. Peace & Tuna

This is from Sept. at 13,000'. The wind was gusting over 60 and both Nancy and I got bad windburn. Took a few weeks of Aloe Vera before I lost the alligator skin. We had climbed 3,000 feet to get over this pass and drop down into a basin with a few golden trout lakes, but we headed back down. The lake behind me is devoid of fish. Too high. We met some European climbers that wanted to summit an adjacent peak, but they headed down, too. A little cold on the SR is relatively tame. I'm much more adventurous on the trail than in the water, though. My suicidal wading days are over. I did a dance in some pretty nasty, waste deep water last Sat, trying to get around a tree. F' that, I turned around and went back. I already have Reynaud's syndrome in my left foot from walking out with a wet, frozen foot from a leaking wader. I walked 1/2 mile on a foot with zero feeling in it. Yet , that doesn't deter me in the least from still going in the winter. I just try not to fall in. Safe travels to all!!!!! Hope some of you get into them good this weekend.

Batten down the hatches, we are supposed to get 2-4" of rain tonight into tomorrow in southeastern NY. Thank God it's not snow. Safe travels for those of you headed out for Turkey Day.

I'm hoping, Jack. I'm slowly learning more spots and techniques for high water, but I'd rather fish 500-750 by a huge margin. Wading in the ripping cold water SUCKS. I did find out All Seasons opens at 5 am. That new switch will be getting fished right from the get go.

About an inch or so here today so that make 2 to 3 on the ground. Ground it totally covered. Supposed to go from snow to rain and then back. With warmer weather in the forecast (above freezing ) early next week, don't know if we will see a bump down, but maybe.

Looking very doubtful for 500- can hope it stays 750-900 release. Hope the Genny is good to you, Lucky. Unless you decide to go elsewhere- then good luck there! We had a couple of inches, now raining.

Torrential rain and heavy wind over night. Better than the wintery mix we usually get.

We got our first plowable event yesterday/ last night. Woke up to about 6 inches or so. Got the drive cleared and on the last swipe the plow stops working. Motor not running, got power to the motor. 2 taps with a BFH and it's working again. Brand new motor from last year so hope it was just a little rusty inside from non use

Charlie,be carefull out there Fri as it's going to be frigid! The good thing is there will be no run off so the flow should be steady at 750 or hopefully 500.The weekend is going to warm up to low 30's,that'll feel balmy by Sun.

From an oh so fishable 650 on Wednesday and a still acceptable 900 on Turkey day, the Genny spiked to over 2000 for my Friday off. I can't win for losing, tt is dropping again down to a fishable 1400, but I have a lot on my plate today, so it looks like I take chance that it keeps dropping through tonight and I can get there tomorrow PM, and then I'm done until after Christmas, by which time we may have walkable water around here. I think if I want to fish, I have to retire, I just don't get enough time with the job anymore. Good luck to all for the last of fall! L13

Lucky-- As a long time early retiree lemme tell ya-- life still gets in the way----these past two years have been slim pickins at my Sr place due to those other issues- lol. NEXT year----------if it was gonna stay like this I'd sellout and go back to renting a room now and then. NEXT year -------a week or two for Deer and Fish- plus necessary weekends for MORE.

Had a long walk in the snow today, and the crowds were there in spots but manageable. Or completely avoidable. If it'd stay that way I'd think I'd went to heaven. It's a testament to steelhead how many people think nothing of getting in the water at 0, me included. Sorry to hear your window of oppurtunity got closed, Lucky.

Jack, I have a trail camera set up in the corner of my yard. The fence in the background is for my 30x80 vegetable garden. My house is situated on a dead end road between two large parcels, 700 & 1200 acres. I can spin a lot of flies out of one of those hides. LOL
