Guys...depending on how much water they emptied out in reservoir past few days its very detrimental right now. There could be four to five K coming in from tUg hill as we speak. We could be looking at major major blowout. This mornIng in to the afternoon maybe anyones last shot to fish the river for the weekend...and that is even limited over 2100 in Pineville and still rising. All triBs are blown out

Man that would be great but unfortunately they already have today scheduled for 2k ... probably no need for an emergency release. Wouldn't be surprised if we see 3k on Sunday or Monday though by the time all the run off hits the dam... tunas plan b would probably be smoking on Sunday and monday

My three go to flow charts have all broken the daily record already today... Still rising... one in particular crushed it by 2000 cfs... running at 4090 right now.... previous record was less than half of that! Sr just surpassed the previous record by 10 cfs and still rising... tribs to the north are coming over their banks at this point! My question is what type of lake effect snow is gonna be forming In a few weeks from all of this warm water pumping in to the big lake... Gotta love the weather theead

Well at pre dawn things looked dim for plan b. we went to grab some joe and somehow I got lost in ice fishing.and Fichy wanted to throw some rope. As the light broke through so did some hope and hold off on plan c. Back the scene of my crime ( camping) and it was quiet. Toured the north side of river up to UFZ and it looked busy even the oh well trib. No sign of my partner. Back to my scene of crime for another try at rousing the owner outta bed. No luck.. Sun was now peaking through the clouds and south side in pineville was empty and looked fishy. Gave it a spinning go with no dice. Clouds came and so did the RAIN !! Time to implement plan C:

The gauge up on north is 2800 right now... fish creek hit 5 grand about an hour ago. Very I interested to see what they're gonna do up on light house hill... there's gotta be a ton of water barreling in up there.
Tuna , try fishing the north side of the second (larger island ) in the area I mentioned

no I didn't.. Heard West was best also but was not into more driving to find most glory spots full of fishers as well. Things were very Busy today.. There were some Small tribs of the SR fishable, again seeing 4+ cars at designated parking locations was more then I wanted.. Besides, I wasn't into it anyway.. The Main Ontario Tribs in the area blew out, I mean toast.. Everything was wicked nasty until I got off the hill below Herkimer.. Again, there were places to fish effectively with my spinning rod.. I just picked the ones without any luck.. All the popular spots I seen bent rods and one spot last night (inaccessible today) 2 guys (the only two there) said they had a banner day.. They were 1/2 mile up from us and 1/4mile up from 2 bobs spot.. It was not an option today.. Don't know how Fichy made out as I lost him this morning.. His area had 4 cars (not him) with only a small section to fish so I went to an area that had none and got good drifts with sacks.. Big fat SKUNK for me.. It was a great time while it lasted even if the fishing for me was poor.. Now I'm having just as much fun rockin' in the basement playing with my toys.. Not sure of my fishing status up there for awhile as some meat needs to hit the freezer.. I got 4 tags of my own to fill :) May get a jones for chrome as I know they are there to be had.. We shall see.. BRING ON THE ICE !!!!

Hit town area for a quick 45... there is fishable water. No action for me.... saw quite a few hooked... but key word is hooked... I'd have to say they should start calling the town area an exclusive snagging area for steelhead after Oct. 15th... frikkin ridiculous. I was targetting the frothy back Eddy's in search for a lunker brown..also drifted some seems for hot chrome but no success for me. Tribs crested about an hour ago and are waning but have a ways to go. Salmon river is slightly cloudy with much debris. No update on waterlines release. I honestly hope they bump it up a few notches to blow these snaggers right back to where they came from. Such a horrible scene to see for steelhead.

Dime, As to calling Town an exclusive snagging area for steelheads, wouldn't it be more productive for the overall fishery to nail the A**h***s that are "flossing" them or, if that's the only way to fish there, just make it a sanctuary, no fishing at all. Maybe I'm not getting what you are saying, so Please elaborate. 2B and me had really nice swing water right behind the Endzone, but we thought maybe all the fish use Dawn's side of the river to get through that stretch, as we had no bites at all (at 1200 + in Pineville) on Tuesday. Hey boys, coming up next week for several days. Our problem is my buddy who has the driftboat can't make it up until Thurs night we'll be up there Tuesday. What is your advice about a safe CFS to wade upper and lowr fly zones. Last time we waded at high water it was pretty dicey but I think the CFS was well over 2G.. Thanks

Kinda joking lucky... or jokefull sarcasm moreso. I wouldn't say its the only way to fish there. And I've been seeing fish hooked on both sides. Honestly as you said, there are some seems and flats that could be targeted ethically on both sides. Just tired of seeing it. As you know its a new fad in that area. Most folks were casting and just letting it drift for a few feet and ripping. Sanctuary??? I think that's a little over the top. Exposure??? That's a different story. I flat out called every fisher I saw doing it to 3 different sets of folks I saw. One pair of guys did say its almost impossible to get them to bite in this water. Man did I want to prove them wrong. 45 minutes just wasn't long enough I guess. Saw the 50 cfs bump. Although the run off is waning, something tells me there's more water to come from the res...

Ok, I stand corrected, and I agree, before the easy path to the water there was almost no one in there, and now you could set up a number machine from a Deli. But there are a couple of really sweet spots, although I think playing and landing a fish might be a real challenge. We saw a few fish hooked, we saw none brought to hand. I hope you are wrong about the res, 2B and I are planning a 2day this week, the Genesee is coming up rapidly now, and I don't want to take off work to fish the ditches. Steelhead season 2013 is quite a blowout so far this year. You'll have a great stock of fish for the winter season, but all that hot jumpy warm water stuff will be out of them once the snow flies. They will still take nice pictures though! L13
