Think I'm done and going to put the ice gear away.
Spent 7 out of the last 9 days looking down a hole. My back and neck are hurting pretty good today.
It's not that I can't find ice to still fish but I'm plain Ole burned out .. Didn't keep track but spent close to 50 days on top this season , time to move on .

The weather ? Ah , enough of winter bring on spring and bring on stripers

Only 4 times out for me , disappointed to say the least, but I stayed above the water so all is good. Time to start concentrating on spring  things now. HS basketball playoffs, garden planting and spring steel to name a few.

No prob bear. Well, flow gauged are beginning to go vertical from the warm sw wind, not rain. There is some yellow on the radar over North West pa. If this sw wind brings that across the southern shore and over tug hill... look the effff out

64 degrees with thunderstorms and forty mile an hour gusty winds today. 28 degrees tonight, rain changing to snow, with 30 MPH gusty winds. Temps. to remain below freezing til Sunday.

NWS saying heavy snow advisory looming, possibly through Friday evening.

All that right here in my little piece of Penn's Woods.

Ice gear all hung in the mancave with care. FishHawk on her bunk and I in my hat, just waiting for spring to go find, where the fishes are at. 😝

I gotta git..... that dam snow shovel back out of storage.😣

Out and about playing in the backyard with my dogs this morning, under sunny blue skies with just a hint of a westerly breeze and the temp hovering barely above 25 degrees.

One of those beautiful winter mornings ya just can't help but enjoy. Around a inch of new fallen snow covers the ground yet birds are singing in anticipation of spring, as they flock to freshly filled feeders.

My favorite bird this time of year, the Cardinal as the female sits in dense brush or smaller trees whistling her song anticipating spring mating.

Now walking along the beaver ponds, 300 yards to the East of my house when the wind began to stir followed by a fading sun. I looked skyward to see a dense fog moving from West to East. Just amazing I thought, turning to see, my house disapear in a wall of snow.

No question why, I enjoy my little piece, of Penn's Woods.

Pretty as today might be, I soon hope to be hearing the male Cardinal singing his song; "spring is sprung let's git-r-done", as I and the FishHawk sit on waters edge.

Wind is just a wippin. I am ready for spring.  On a good note we have had three calves in the past month. Sadly one did not make it, but the other two seem fine.  One more to go I think.

Nice tuna!!! In and around 0 again tonight. Sun is powerful though. The hot sun and cold temps had flow gauges damming up the past couple days especially Ias the night. Tomorrow could be interesting

Yup, cold and windy yesterday in Pulaski.  The river looked like it was ripping pretty good.  Snuck into town yesterday for a trip on the Oswego today.

Very cold on the water this morning but by early afternoon it wasn't too bad.

Had a very good day and promise to give a full report with photos tomorrow.

It went from 60 degrees and sunny in Thursday afternoon to six inches of snow and in the 20's by Friday morning.

Ole man winter is holding on tight in my neck of the woods in the Mid Hudson region.  About 5-6" of the white stuff down and still snowing.  At least the paved driveway has little to no accumulation so there will be no need to fire up the thrower.

This event is not too bad, now let's see what Tuesday & Wednesday will bring.  Praying for a swing and a miss.

New York's trout season opener is three weeks away.  Looking forward to wetting a line in some of the local NYC reservoir outlet streams.  Hurry Spring!

As soon as that quick hit of snow passed through you could feel the temperature drop and the wind pick up.  A bitterly cold & windy weekend ahead with a classic nor'easter on its heels. Ugh!
