Flows here are what I'd consider late spring mud season but 2 months ahead. Spring fed ponds are still way low . Don't think without hard freeze and snow pack, there won't be reason for a continuation of last summer conditions.

Well I got the results today good news but bad news. I didn't tear the meniscus but I did manage to fracture a bone in my knee not sure how but it happened. At least no surgery and I'll be good to go for April 1 if not sooner. Kind of a just deal with the pain if it gets worse I'll be on crutches for a bit. So I guess I'll make the most of staying off of it and start tying some flies. Off to Michigan this week for work I heard it's beautiful there this time of year.

At least that should heal up and perhaps not flare up again, Wayne. Have a good trip. Call me when you get back and we'll go shop for some materials somewhere We should tie some of those wiggle minnows for stripers.

Looking at the 10 day , I don't see any snow melt in the forecast. Things are looking up, lakers tomorrow, steelhead next week and maybe lake George will ice over by time I'm on vacation :) No snow here just getting back to cold

Today was the day. Weather was perfect with a touch of snow and a blow of wind now and then. Had a view of a big iced covered lake with that same Ole open water pocket behind me. Still, 8" solid . No crowds, seen plenty fish hooked between me and brother in law. He iced 5, lost 3 ,I lost 6 that I seen but got skunked . Gonna miss the ice next week as its getting colder but should be getting better at opening more waters :)
Back to work tomorrow, ugh

I was just thinking that our weekend up there is going to be a trip !! Ought to be interesting. Wonder if bringing tip ups to set in the estuary would be any less productive, lol. We really don't have much snow on the eastern side of NY that I been traveling. The lakes have been super easy access with just enough not to tear up my sled from the parking areas. I'm down to about 2" packed here and gets less when the sun is out. Avoiding mud season conditions has been good this week. Can't wait for the ice vacation in 2 weeks !!! I think local stuff should tighten up again and there is always laker fishing available until mid March now at this point but I will probably be burned out and looking at the boat and striper gear :)

The brunt of the storm again hit just north of Pulaski and it is still snowing hard up there. It stopped snowing just after my post last night and we got no more. Probably 8inches on top of the foot from yesterday. I am guessing Pulaski\altmar got a little more

The sun is now out but the snow continues to the north, they are building on 120inches in the past week to 10days. Hope HT is putting a hurting on. It is Windy and 15 degrees. I would like to venture out, but am afraid the snow will move south. Wednesday temp is 48 and I have the day off............

Well the weather has been wacky this year. Next call is for 50mph winds and up to an inch of rain Tuesday into Wednesday. Our ground still does not have a heavy frost into it and we are still digging on when we plow. Weather looks fair for the weekend and I may take a drive up north to fish through the ice. My local spot had an inch then three feet of snow, so it will be a while. At least the wind and rain will clear it.........

We got about half inch plus of rain. Not as much as thought. Still lots of snow and it's dense now. It also got colder a bit faster.

Presently getting a good shot of snow in the Mid Hudson region. We have approximately a half foot on the ground with heavy snow coming out of the north east. The weatherman is calling for 8-12" before moving out this afternoon. If the white stuff must fall I'll take it over the wintery mix/freezing rain any day of the week. Get ready r3g3, it may be worse for your neck of the woods.

My earlier guesstimate was way off, 10+ already on the ground. A revised estimate calling for 12-18" before all said and done. I won't need to go to the gym to workout today. LOL
