screwy trip
Well after weeks away and missing my favorite time of year and a death in the immediate family decided to get up for 3 or 4 days. Really needed a break and mind reset. Bout half way up yesterday PM called home and found that it was snowing heavy instead of the predicted rain. When I got to my place the wife said bout 6 inches on the ground and still coming. Darned near went back home. Hmmmmmm Well this morning the cell battery went dry and I did leaves till bout noon and charged the phone. Noon recharge found 6 messages- panic calls bout electric issues at home and then advised she had fixed it. Hmmmmmm Called home and advised all OK stay and fish for a few days- I did- for bout an hour and a half - couldnt concentrate --ISSUES-- Hmmmmmm Winterized and bugged for home-- good thing- had to fix the electric when I got here. That was a Swoop--shoulda just stayed home and saved the 2 tanks of gas. Next week-???? BTW - no bites.

Thanks guys- Hate crybabies but now and then trips for all of us aint what we expected--lol. Perhaps its Karma cause I had intended to keep ONE Steel for the table- woulda been the first keeper in years. Hey- tried a bright pink egg with some sparkely hackle on it on about a 12 hook in the LFZ with 8 lb Drennan- NO go- was in early afternoon and nobody else was having luck either--small crowd. I was at the tail of Kiddie and observed most guys seemed in faster waters. One guy hooked up-momentarily -and said he was using a green woolly bugger- it looked much larger than my presentation. Perhaps a return in a coupla weeks- Home stuff and Deer opens next week---- Good luck to all--

They are hanging in faster water everywhere. All my luck has been on size 8 and 10. More luck on stone patterns the last 2 trips out. Did tie up some size 6 steelhead hammers last night if it stays warmer. http://www.bing.com/image...4CDA0A40F2&first=1 Simple to tie half egg, half stone, best of both worlds. Pink has been my ticket with them, blue and creme on the egg stuff

I tied most of my Bownie eggs in blue no luck yet but I will keep trying them. I too will keep one for the table this year if the opportunity arises.

Hey Clint- My youngest - the lineman like your Dad was- stopped home for 10 minutes since the day before the storm - just 1o- got some fresh clothes hugged the wife and kid and was sent right out to Jersey for who knows how long. Be a cold day in Hades before I ever lived in any place within blocks of one of those houses up on stilts or anyplace remotely near a neighborhood called Island, Harbor, Inlet, Reef, Beach or anything else where they are under at least 30 feet below Sea level or even along any waterway that has flooded since Biblical times. Feel really bad for all those folks still suffering but Geezzzze ya kinda gotta have some kinda hint when ya choose to live in those places near big water that sooner or later -------- Those poor folks really got it bad according to the news reports. When ya think ya got 'issues' just turn on the TV and see those people--nothin left for some.

My dad put in some long weeks too RT. Tough dangerous work to say the least. These are the same people who have been warned time and again and still live there. You feel bad, but most knew the risks going in. I work in a Hospital so you don't have to tell me twice about suffering and counting your blessings. I do every day.

If Govt really had the guts--NO building permits for anything ruined- just a question of time till the next "event". Ya can eventually replace 'stuff- but folks die in those things. Was in New Orleans a long time after the floods- lots of folks simply left- huge areas of just grass where many houses used to be-guess they had enough of living BELOW sea level. Hard lessons-or perhaps a dose of common sense.
