10/27/12

Here is the skinny on today's fishing trip.  I forgot my fly box today so I went with the spin rod,  a little float fishing and a whole lot of bottom bouncing beads and egg sacs in all colors.

I started at the long bridge in town and fished up and down that stretch.   The only fish I saw taken were coming from one particular spot and it was elbow to elbow there.  I saw about 6  fish  landed   a few were  foul hooked.  One female king was taken and one Lamprey eel.   Nothing for me except a few jumping in front of me.
On to just down from Dimes place and had tons of water to myself except the parade of boats going by, most stopping for a few minutes no one had luck.  Jaw a few fish jumping in front of me and a few swimming around.  No hits.
Went to the hatchery to see what was shaking and was AMAZED at the # of steel running that ladder.  Probably watched 10 to 15   make the big jump in 20 minutes  or so.
Stopped by the LFZ and walked down, better have a long handled net if you are fishing the church side.  The flow has changed due to all the work, especially making that wall taller. Time will tell.

No hits, pretty warm and nice day overall.  River was pretty fishable except for the leaves and the lack of bites.
Keep em' tight
Clint

Thanks for the report, Clint. Heading up for the next two days with the wife. Hopefully I'll find some new spots and some willing fish. If anything , I hope to learn something new. Easy for me.

Looks like Charlie had  a good day for fishing.  It remained fairly dry and the weather was cooler.   I had an appointment at 10 to put my boat away for the winter (keep it in my friends barn)  and other crap to do around the house.   This weekend my be a high water bust , but we will see.   I already have a possible plan in place depending.
