Fish numbers

  Hello all
I've only been fishing for steel about 4 years now. I really don't have enough experience to say if the numbers are down or not. Having said that, i was up last week at the nut and talked to an older man at the shutes and he said the numbers were down due to comercial fishing on the canadian side of the lake, walleye predation and fish not returning to the creeks.  Any thoughts on that? Not sure if that line of thought is accurate or not! Just trying to understand.

Thanks for the reply rsquared. Read the links. Seems to be several factors regarding the numbers of fish, or lack of numbers, depending on who you talk to. Just trying to get educated. Please be patient. Thanks.
