Rent Your Gear?

I know this is an odd questions and I'm sure you regulars are gonna give me **** for it but here goes anyway...  Ill be staying on the elk from the 25 to the 27th. I really wanna try a center pin set up. I have no issues catching fish with my current setup(10'6'' fenwick, shimano stradic spooled with seagur4#) but last year I watched a fella with his center pin and it really intrigued me. Anyone willing to trade for the day or rent me their gear for the day?

Don't be intrigued by the "dark side".  Move to the light.  Next thing you know you'll be tossing egg sacs on a catfish pole.

I used a pin on the salmon river last year after a friend showed me the ropes.
nothing appealing for me, the rod is very heavy and awkward feeling, it seems it takes
away some of the fight. As someone else mentioned, its very time consuming to rig it.
It does have a place on fast flow rivers like oswego or salmon, but I cant think of a water in Erie Pa where it is worth the extra effort.

Said as I stand beside you and hook up and land 3X as many feesh on any given day, no better way to present a drift, some days it doesn't matter but some days it does....

I find it hard to believe that pinning will help anyone hook up 3x the rate I currently do with my setup now.. The reason I wanted to try it is for the long runs, with a spinning rig you are limited to the drift after you are about 10'oclock or 2'oclock downstream. The guys with the pins seem to be able to hold their drifts longer without the slack being pulled by the current. That is just my observation, correct me if im wrong

Any one see the commercial on TV with  he dude in the bright green shirt and K-Mart vest with a center pin? I think it is for some type of insurance.

He rigs it with a red and white plasitc bobber.  This is what happens when companies want to appeal to a demographic, yet don't bother to do enough research to understnad who they are.

Early season I stick to the 10'6 rod because I enjoy casting the lake however, I bought a 13'6 Wright and Mcgill pin rod from Poor Rich for 70 bucks last year and do fine rigging it up with a spinning reel. Try investing in a long rod and use a spinning reel works just fine and you can achieve good drifts

Nothing replicates the naturual drift you get with a Good pin rigged with the right rod... Nothing... A red and whitter plastic bobber would be interesting though...

Dardys on elk north of 20 a couple years back a guy was slapping a fly outfit with about 20 or so in arms reach, slow clear water in waders with a bright white hoodie on . It was pathetic but he had the world by the ****** at that moment. We showed him what live emeralds with no weight could do ZZZIIINNNGGG

YES!!  And I went all hyper critical (much like Fisherlady 2 would criticize an episode of "Emergency!").  My wife and son started moving away from me, finally assuring me, "It's okay...it's just a commercial."
