Suicide Tues.
Left before 3 am to meet Pafisher and start at 7 am. Quit at 4pm. In between was hookup after hookup after hookup after hookup after hook...................... Lots of the time we had doubles on. My King season is OVER. How Jack maintains the stamina to continue fishing this week, I don't know. Man's amazing. UFZ wasn't crowded in the least and extremely friendly . I missed a night of sleep, which is not unusual for me when fishing, but sometimes it's not worth it. This time it was in spades. Good thing caffeine works the way it does. What a freakin' run. Thanks, Jack. Charlie

Nice to hear you had a great day. Rained like the hammers of h--- all day in lower Dutchess County. No fishing, hunting nor any other fun. It was a run errands day.

Strawberries were 2-3 weeks early in My and June, sweet corn on July 4, Apples were ready to be picked 2-3 weeks early, why not the run coming in early as well? Word along the western Lake is that the browns and steel are all staged at the mouths of the tribs waiting for temperature and water in a lot of them, good fishing off shore and the piers. If I could get to Pulaski now, I'd be ignoring the Kings except to find a pod spawning, and mosying downstream a few yards to drift little egg flies. In a normal year we are figuring lots of steel by third or last week in October, so with everything else as early this year.... L13

I will be hopig for fresh coho or chrome if I get to go Tues. I also hope the big top has been pulled down and the caliope is a distant memory. Tumble weeds rolling down the banks. If my yard is any indication the leaf hatch is early also. One good flush of water could clear them out in a day or two.

2b, those aren't tumbleweeds, those are balls of mono escaped from the LOTAC collectors. I liked the images, though. I hope Lucky is right in extrapolating all the early signs nature is putting up into some earlier runs. Look forward to some non-Chinook reports. Much as I was tempted to spend a little time down river, I don't have enough knowledge to get away from the crowds, quickly and with surety. I'd have loved to put some lighter tippet and egg patterns to use. I'm not complaining though. I had an incredible day. Hope you have some to share soon of some different critters. Charlie

Down through town and the Ballpark was still a zoo last Monday- Upriver wasnt bad at all away from the lots and mid river held tons of cars but most were posted up around the lots- A couple of hundred yards walking makes its a whole different place. good luck--

the special cristibo columbo crowd is the circus i mean. that 3-5 day event that happens every year. oct will be oct and this weekend i would guess unless everyone used their time the last month down in town the river will be crowded and not just at the lots. while i am getting more sedintary as i age i still like the option of going to new water without needing a shoe horn to get a place.

Here's Pafisher multi-tasking. What's surprising is that's he's not hooked up at the same time as releasing the double we just banked. I think he was on a break. This grey weather doesn't make for the most scenic of pics, so I didn't take many. For me, a couple of guys fishing together, landing some great fish at the same time is a special occasion. I suppose that may be old hat to many, it sure ain't to me. Charlie

Well I'm finally getting around to posting again, was too busy and tired for some reason or another Well as Charlie said it was fish on constantly,by the end of each day I was soooo tired but it was a good tired.Dark colors are what they are hitting, nympths, wooly buggers, black estaz, etc.Tried other colors, including the light blue estaz that worked last week and nothing doing this week. The entire river is loaded with fish, took a ride today before leaving and there are fish everywhere.Stopped in town to look at the circus and had a few laughs, lot of clowns are putting on a show. Now it's time for some steel if we ever get some rain.

I heard the river was clouding up from all the clown make-up running and Dawn was seen running inside screaming "all my good stank is washing off". Other than that, I'm very glad to hear the rain report.
