Columbus Day weekend snafu

For those of you New Yorkers that like deer hunting and have young hunters, but were planning on a salmon trip that weekend, you now have a decision to make thanks to a last minute change in the season dates. Encon has now made that weekend the youth gun season, bucks or does can be taken with gun or crossbow. Its not in the hunting guide book because this happened after publication. But it is on their website. I wonder how many monster bucks dad is going to "help" he child take?

    I hear you man  we have the same thing here in pa  youth hunt which means dad gets to shot and little johnny or jane can say they got it      remember kids say the darndst things (the truth)

    If Im not mistaken, isn't it doe only for the youth hunt down there? I just wonder if this might help out with crowd control on the river. Im sure it wont be ghost town but hopefully it wont be half off on black friday at Macys either.

    It's only doe on youth hunt, and I was there for the Columbus fiasco once and that was enough. Unless you have no choice.

    The Columbus Day Weekend Youth Hunt a regular big game tag, DMP or DMAP tag can be used.  The regular big game tag a deer of either sex may be taken.  Does only on the DMP or DMAP tag.

    bear you will never sleep at your camp with the caliope playing day and night.
    its coming i heard it in the distance on mon and tues it spunded closer closer.
