Hook size question

If I am tying estaz flies using a Tiemco 2457 scud style hook, what is the best size hook to use for fishing the Salmon River in Pulaski?

    Depends on what you are fishing for and the time of year for salmon I use 4 and 6 and for steel 6 to 12.  Later in winter a little smaller.   I like to tie these with the Scud hooks.
