Now that's an idea. I hate it when the bite my float. Maybe just substitute the float for a popper and fish like normal.

in years gone by I've tossed plenty bait while  buzzed, but never tossed a buzz bait for steel

caught plenty  on floating  crank and stick  baits before.
'bout 15-16   years ago there was a couple years in a row I had good success with crank baits  and stick minnows
But i quit using them cause it's too hard to get treble hooks out of their azz  and in into their mouth for the pic

Any point in coming up tomorrow to trout run with this weather? Would it help or hurt the lake shore fishing? I was there today for the first time ever and saw one fish in 4 hours. Thought I'd try tomorrow too unles this weather is just going to make it worse.
