salmon eggs

will steelhead eat store salmon eggs the typ that come in a jar and if so what colors could i try

    Buy real salmon eggs tied into sacs will work much better and cost the same.

    I have never tried them, but they sure will eat the sacs I tie up from king and coho eggs.  I leave mine natural and tie them in a blue sac.  I would say you are better off just buying some sacs at a local store.

      If your not used to fishing the currents and rocks in the SR -would strongly suggest the sacs and plenty of them-they can easily and commonly be lost in decent numbers on each trip- They seem to hold well in the frig till next time if any are left over too.
        When ya only buy a dozen and the Steel are biting you will be very disappointed in yourself stream  side looking for another bait.

    That is one of the main reasons I go shark fishing anymore.   can tie sacs for pennies and alot of them from a few fish.
