Fridays mid river report

Started out in ellis cove lot, as Im getting my waders on can hear splashing so get dressed fast and watch about 4 or so shoot up the thin water by the lot. I leave them alone and go look for more, I find 25 or so more from the lot down to the trestle, some could cast to most on the run. Head back to truck and move a little closer to the lake. See about 25 more some I get to cast to 4 or 5 times and still no takers, accidently got one in the back and one in the motor, both popped free no problems. At this point I have used every fly in the box, olive, rootbeer, mickey finn colored, purple, black used every bugger color I have, and decide to tie on a pink and white flesh fly, about 4 casts later fish on and a nice 14lb male king comes to the shore and gets released. Had every intention of keeping him but forgot a garbage bag to put him in till I got to a cleaning station, cant get that stink out of your carpets so revived and let go. Fished for another hour or so in the same spot still seeing a few but no takers, finally when Im getting ready to leave I get another take, about a 25lb hen and a quick revive and let go. Now its about 11am and 80 degrees and Im sweating like crazy, time to go. Fish are moving for sure but its still early, 2 for 4 at this time of year aint to bad especially mid river. Heading up again on sunday hopefully its pouring. All the fish I saw looked good and fresh only spotted two dead ones.
