Well I fished today  for 2 hours from the black hole about 1/2 way up to the staircase.  I saw a group of 3 kids literally heard and rip 3 fish out of a small hold.   Other than that  I saw 1 moving  fish blow by me like a bat out of hell.  Were 4 or 5 guys out.  Not much going on anywhere.   One big dead male.   It was more like cooling off, practice casting and stopping for an ice cream cone on the way home

Not a pretty sight, Clint. Glad you went, though.  Soon, there'll be hundreds of adults trying the same tactics.... Grin and bear it. I've got my priorities all screwed up and planned a major backpacking/fishing trip to the Sierras starting Labor Day. Then there's a Project Healing Waters event that I need to do a bunch of work for. I won't get a shot at the salmon until around the 23rd. Good thing is,around then,  I might have some good company in HT and Pafisher to hit the river with, so I'll just have to  wait. You got a start on most of us Clint. Watching those fish run , even just in singles,gets my heart pounding. I guess that shows what a amature I am. If I get all jaded and ho-hum, I won't spend a dime on gas to go. Thanks for the report, Clint- I'll buy lunch next time I run into you.

Fichy, i dont think you couldve picked a better time to go. That os probably the most consistent time of year i can ever remeber.

Hook, glad to hear you didnt waste the gas buddy;) just to let you know, the rock structures and pocket flows have changed a bunch since last year in the dsr. A lot of rocks got pushed out of areas and collected in other areas. Im interested to see what it will look like in higher water. I fished it twice before these recent fish came in but ended up scouting and crossing the river in a few spots just to familiarize myself with the changes...

hay fichy we used to have a healing waters event here but for some reason havent had one in a year or so  kind of miss it was a greeter most of the time.  hoping they get the rain that they say is coming  mabe it will raise the water and cool it down some more for when we come up in 2 wks
