Nice. Looks like I have a project to complete now. I havent priced out actual rudders to attach to my yak yet and now I dont think I have to.From what Ive heard they range from $200 to $400 , cant see spending that much on a rudder. Slick has told me I should invest in one " I wont regret it "and now I may have to build one. Looks fairly easy to build, mount and use.

It makes ALL the difference when drifting with the wind. I've got 10 times the boat control deetz does. I can also rip that sucker 180 in two strokes. Long and short...rudders are bad as*

No....beer does On the real tho...with the right wind, I can driftfish the entire laggoons and pick up the paddle maybe 5 times...pedals do the work. Another bonus is I can correct the tracking on my boat when lure drag tries to pull me one way or the other. I stand by my statement...rudders are bad as*...get one or build one...tRuStMe

I've got a 14' Walden Scout. I'm mostly fishing the bay...Mine is on a two way pulley connected by a rope system. I flip it up and down pretty easily.

Does anyone know where or who carries the square or rectangle plastic tubing for the bracket piece??? Im pricing out parts to make one and I cant find a piece of square tubing to make the bracket mount anywheres. Ace, and Lowes dont have anything like that. OR Does anyone have an idea what else I could make the mount from. The best example of the style of bracket I need to make is like the first 2 pics in the link Mika posted. On the green colored yak.

While this may be tru.....it however may be a little shady. Id bet , though , where he works they could fabricate something like what I am needing.

Did you look in the fencing section of lowes or Home deoot? Accordoing to the caption above the pic, it's a section of 4 X 4 PVC fence post. Though I suspect it might be viynl, rather than PVC.

Deetz, I happen to have exactly what you need. Let me know what size you need and I'll shoot you a piece up. Spoon is right, Vinyl fence, and that's what I do.
