8/18/12 Picturesof the LFZ and reservoir

http://s198.photobucket.c...elmashuck/River%20pic/

I am too lazy to resize them all and post.  There are a couple more in the link above.  Let me know if you cannot access them.  They are on Photobucket.  I do not know if you need an account to access.
My car is at the bottom of the launch ramp which should be under about 4 feet.  I am standing in what is usually 8 feet or so.      Pictures of the bridge also.   As far as the LFZ the wall is OK but nowhere to land a fish without taking a long walk.   Also alot of new boulders here you used to be able to stand at the bottom of the stairs.   Some nice new real estate near the tail.   On a busy day people fished all along there any way, but there is more room.  More tangles from casting across the river.   That hole has and will continue to change..............

I stopped at the hatchery and counted 12 fish in the ladder that were decent size.  Could not tell what they were.   What I found interesting is that of the 12, 10 were broken up into 5 pairs of 2, one smaller and one larger.   The other 2 were loners.   The pairs kept their distance from other pair and fish.   No salmon in the river according to the few places I stopped

Hopefully Isaac swings up that way and helps out a little.

Couple thoughts after seeing those pictures.I don't know if I ever saw that reservoir any lower,we really need some help from Isaac. It looks to me that they made it more difficult on that stretch with their" improvements".There is a nice flat walkway now but they pushed some huge rocks into the tailout and that looks like snag heaven now,and it's going to be even more difficult to land a fish there now from what I see with all the smaller jagged rocks they lined the waters edge with.
    Thanks for the pictures Clint.

Went down onto it a few weeks ago and although it really looks nice and has certainly cared for the erosion issues at that spot they were apparently concerned with it looks to me like in any higher water it will make it very difficult fishing from the gravel bar on the other side.   Hope the gravel lasts and does not wash out in high conditions.
Dont fish there  but many do. Think it will be different for some- perhaps not worse but certainly different.

Seeing how no real rain before today it is lower now than before.   In all my years this one is in the top 5 for lowest.  I remember one year when I was a kid when it was much lower than this almost back down to the river itself.    2007 it was this bad too.
As far as the LFZ, there is no place to land a fish on that wall and I am prepared to lose more flies this year than ever and like some have said I hope it does not wash the other bank out.

Never really fished the LFZ until last season.. I liked it .. Now with the added development, yes added.. It seems I know where the new sweet spot may be.. Nowhere in those pictures though.. Charlie what you think ??

Depends  if its firstlight:30 on a weekday or its turned into the red light district.  Can't see the tree in the picture. I'll be dropping in off the bank, though.
I remember seeing at least 2 people get a nice bath landing fish on the path  side. I think that'll increase this year. It looks like those new flat rocks are going to be really good when the waters running  at 900 and up. Don't forget your net!
