The Snagr' and the Giant Dog

The Snagr’ and the Giant Dog

It feels like yesterday
But it was the weekend passed
He was kayaking the Erie shore
Try’n snag’n fish with every cast
He noticed this giant dog
That was snarling at him from the beach
The dogs neck hair stood up, its teeth showed
The snagr’ thought he was out of reach
The dog took one leap off the pier
And was galloping to do battle
He reeled in as quick as could be
And grabbed his kayak paddle
Against the wind, he was paddling against the wind
He was paddling fast with a dog after his azz
Against the wind

After 40 yards of furious paddling
His shoulders were getting sore
He turned to see the growling beast
Was still following at full bore
He had to lighten his load
But he was in doubt
Needing to get the kayak going faster
Wondering what to leave in or what to throw out
There were only seconds to spare
As he took another glance
The dog was only 20 feet behind
He thought he didn’t have a chance
Against the wind, he was paddling against the wind
The dog was closing fast, wanting a piece of his azz
Against the wind

He didn’t have any pepper spray
Never thought of taking his Glock
He was just out to fish that day
His only defense was an umbrella and sun block
He had to think of something quick
The dog was closing in
He threw a samwich overboard
The beast only grinned
He dug the paddles deeper in the lake
As it ferociously drew nearer
He clinched his smoke between his lips
And paddled faster in fear
Against the wind, he paddled against the wind
He paddled fast with the dog after his azz
Against the wind

After 120 yards he realized
What he should have noticed before
He’d been paddling in the shallows
No further from the shore
The dog’s long legs reached the shallow bottom
It chased him with leaps and bounds
It was then he turned towards the deep
To escape from this hungry hound
Thank goodness he got away
From this vicious giant dog scare
He still awakes at night
The giant dog chewing on him, in nightmares
Against the wind

    Very cool.

For those of us close enough to get pics, I'm not sure which is scarier.... The attacking dog or the rainbow kayak....
