downriggers

curious if anyone is catching walleyes with downriggers thought it might be an option for a couple more rods thanks

    Riggers have been hot for me..last Saturday they caught 1/2 of my fish.

    how far back from ball should i run my lure kinda new at the downrigger use thanks

    Walleye are ball shy...I like at least 50-60', but sometimes run up to 100'.  Steelies and lakers, I'll run them a couple feet back and they don't seem to mind.  My rigger rods have 50' of fluoro leader then heavy mono...I just go back past the knot and on goes the release.

    I've not had any luck, all mine coming off dipseys and boards. Maybe have to go back further for me than 50'.
    Are you using shallow or deep plugs though?
    Only walleye caught this yr off the riggers was a blueberry muffin spoon.
