north american fishing club

Anyone ever join this? Ever get anything good free? What species did you select when you sent it in? And most importantly, is it worth it?

I'm a member, for 5 years now. I tested a nice assortment of big inline spinners by Panther Martin. I'm still using them this year, this is the 3rd year. It covers all species. There's a lot of stuff going on there.

I got some line, then what seemed to be a request for donates for every yard of it.I think you have to buy theie stuff to increase value of what you get.

I joined once & won't join again. Your chance of getting something worthwhile is slim.IMO the mag. is the only thing of any value & they will put your name on other mailing lists &they are constantly sending you other offers.Plus they give you free prizes, like a pack of 6 hooks or a pack of swivels.Same thing with the North American Hunting club. sam

biggest scam ever.....when I signed up I didn't receive anything for months, then all of sudden I'm getting collection notices for not paying for something I never received. They apparently have their own collections office that they send these threatening notices from. Its not even legit. Finally six months later I got my first issue of the magazine and never received all my rewards. Couldnt find a customer service number anywhere so I googled them and found out the real deal.

I've been a member for about a year and have no complaints. Magazine is really informative. They do offer books to buy. I bought two of the books but sent the others back. With each book, they send you free line or something. I don't have to buy line for a while. You're not obligated to buy the books and if you don't open it, it costs nothing to send back. I am happy with it so far. Haven't got to test anything really nice yet though.

I was a member for years and got a few nice items. I won a nice baitcaister rod n rell combo for finishing in the top 30 of thier C & R contest back in 2000 something. I've also got mostly cheaper hook and stuff to test, but the mag was good and I've been in it a few times so that was cool. The TV show is pretty good, I love knot wars.
All in all my several year experience with them was good.
    I had no issues.

The "club" was established to sell magazines then books then a tv show and it's no better (or worse) than any other rack mag.  As I recall there was talk when they first began publishing they were just trying to out do Bassmasters.  The freebies they send you to "test" are manufacturers samples sent to the publisher.  The books are over priced.  FYI, if you get one in the mail, just keep it for you have no legal obligation to return unsolicited items of that nature.  I'd suggest saving your money unless you just have to have another magazine to read.
