Lazy Ole' Me
From a guy who fishes around 200 days a year and just did a unplanned 3,000 mile round trip to southern MS, I was just too lazy to filler it up and go to the SR when my plane touched down sunday.. It's been 8 years since I have not caught a steel trout on 4/1 or fished for wild brookies pre ceeding..
Yup the pathetic opening day of the UFZ, the place where folks gather at specific "spots" in the wee hrs but walk right by the not so obvious.. Oh well I was just to lazy to do it given the fact I have not missed a single week of at least one day a week on the water since November 19th 2011 so I could harvest food for my family, legaly I might add..
Soooo.. When the plane landed on 4/1 I had nothing else on my mind but grabbing a rod and reel.. Threw the Yak in the Sport creek in search of stripers or whatever would bite in the few hrs I had left in the day.. I had no problem trolling the trib which is now holding "spawning" smallmouth and stripers..
I paddled the Yak around in deep and "shallow" waters using an FJ-11 Rapala over which I knew were spawning grounds of fish and proceeded to "catch" an even 1/2 dozen hard azz fighting cookie cutter smallmouth.. HECK I even foul hooked one between the gill plate .. Guess I was wrong for fishing..
Now why do I smell so bad ? Kinda makes one wonder with so much fish slime on my hands, arms, legs and body from FISHING and not time spent in public restrooms..
OR because down here we dont have running water in the ADK's or down here ON the River..

I disagree with you.. No one was banned unless of their own doing.. The Aflac duck was a given..
I'm with you about rights but this is not our playground here as I don't encourage down right disrespect of individuals nor should it have been..
Never did when Fred was mod (why did he leave of course )and consider him a friend indeed..

There was no "gang" and the guys can still post (except duckie) as they wish.. I put my view right out in the open..
Enough of that..
Rest day today then back to the Fishing.. Ya know my wife is getting tired of supporting my lazy butt.. .... If one only Knew !!!
