Mike's Salmon Eggs???

Hey guys. got a quick question. I picked up a case of Mikes salmon eggs from an auction yesterday and was wondering how long do you think these salmon eggs remain good. I paid 7 bucks for 12 jars/1 case so im not out anything. Im thinking that these are around 5 years old but jars are still sealed.
Any thoughts???

Ive always used the shrimp scented eggs and have done very well with them but i couldn't pass these up. I got them for stocked trout in my area so hopefully these will work as well as the shrimp.

When I think of it I turn my extra jars upside down. Seems like there is never enough liquid in them. Helps keeps the ones in the top of the jar moist.

I put salt in mine to make them firmer and suck some of that moisture out of them.

    Too soft if you don't.

They are good mixed with wusabi. Usually keep some as a snack if I get hungry.

Also great scent, I tried in muddy water caught a few steelies but the color wasn't favorable put a peach blood dot in container for a minute and it worked pretty good. Like said before in runny water you can smack stockies on them

Then wouldn't the ones now at the top of the jar be out of the liquid too ? You don't increase the liquid ? Just asking. you'd have to keep flipping back and forth to make this effective. not just leaving them upsidedown right ?

Put a little canola oil in the jar for extra liquid.

I've been using Mike's Oil Pack Eggs for stockies for at least the last 30 years and love them. Pink and white the only two that I buy anymore since they produce the best for me. Have also used them for steelhead but with limited results. The Chinook natural eggs mentioned above are also great but a lot smaller and require a very small hook. The only drawback I have with this bait is that you must constantly be vigilant to the slightest of hits and set the hook immediately or you'll have a gut hooked fish. This is especially true in slower moving water where there is little to no tension on your line which allows the fish to pick up the bait and swallow it before you detect a hit. In faster water where there is tension on the line the strike can be detected almost immediately resulting in a mouth hookup.

Thought I would add my $0.02 to this discussion. I've had so much fun fishing stockies with Mike's that I feel like I should send him a Thank You card. I agree on the color choice. For me, the pale out fish the pink 5:1 or more. I still keep a jar of pink eggs in my vest though just to mix things up.

Now to brag a little. I found out exactly how many rainbows you can land on a single jar. The regular size, not the taller ones. The number is 36. No more, no less. Good day, to say the least.
