I met him on the forums, a few years ago, but never met him in person but were in constant contact via PM's and emails. I just found out this morning and I know he is constantly on this site, so i figured I would let everyone who is familiar with him know of his passing. He was a great guy, very helpful, and always fun to joke with.

The link to his obituary didn’t work for me. I don’t know if it worked for others or not but I am posting it here for all to read.

I didn’t know him but I am sure he was a fine man. It is always a special loss when we lose another avid outdoorsman.

Gary M. Gabauer, 51, of Rochester Township, passed unexpectedly Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Heritage Valley Beaver.

He was born January 26, 1960 in Rochester, son of the late Victor Gabauer and Frances (Zajac) Gabauer, New Brighton.
Gary was employed with U.S. Airways as a machinist/mechanic. In his leisure he enjoyed the outdoors whether hunting, fishing or riding motocross. He also treasured the time he and Lori spent in the cabin at Tidioute.
In addition to his father, Gary was preceded by his sister, Karen Romigh.
Gary is survived by his mother, Frances (Zajac) Gabauer, New Brighton; his fiancée, best friend and soul mate, Lori Ayers, Baden; his niece, Victoria Romigh, New Brighton and extended family and friends.
Gary's family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. immediately following the visitation. The Rev. Fr. Bob Miller of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church will officiate.

My condolences go to his family, fiancé and friends.
